As I was diagnosed with adenomyosis via ultrasound in my 40s I decided to wait it out until post menopause where the adenomyosis dies off naturally in most cases. Looking back I wish I had had treatment as I didn't menopause until fairly recently and it made those last few months of heavy menstrual periods excruciatingly painful; on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being non medicated childbirth, the pain was up around 8.5, but sharper. Now it is all settling, but for what it's worth, get it treated and enjoy your life. History: 4 natural births and 1 C-section.
