I have yet to find out all of the food that triggers my ulcerative colitis flare up but I strongly believe stress contributes to them. I'm a college student and when I find myself faced with a stressful situation my flare ups get worse. I feel terrible inside.

Triggers of ulcerative colitis flares for me are chocolate, bread, and sugar. Let me be clear, I have purchased chocolates ranging from cheap to expensive, different percentages of cacao, as well as non-GMO, organic, etc., and all same results. The best thing has always been spinach, kale, parsley, celery, cilantro, fresh beets, berries, fruits, cucumbers, flax seeds, chia seeds, avocado, and banana, mostly made into smoothies with coconut water. And the more water I drink the better for my bowels. I always take 1 100 mg Colace daily.
