I don't believe the only way you can get trich infection is from a sex partner. It was never classified as an STD until the 70s. I had it as a teen and then again in my late 30s. My doctor almost caused a divorce telling me it had to be from my husband. I believe the disease cells lay dormant in my body then flared up when I was under a period of great stress. I am glad to read here that others are at a loss to explain the infection in themselves.

I got trich infection from my children's father. I already had a gut feeling that he was cheating but I wasn't sure until I went to my obstetrician/gynecologist this past Thursday, I'm 4 months pregnant. It is funny how inconsiderate people are of one another, I've been faithful and only sleeping with him but obviously that wasn't the case with him. I've never felt so stupid, but I'm glad I am taking my medicine. Because goodness knows I don't want anything to happen to my child.

I have been with my boyfriend for 12 years. He has been cheating on me for a while I didn't know until earlier in this year, that he was seeing other women, four to be truthful. So this is how I got the trich infection. You think you know someone but you can never be too safe. So I would say always be safe as you can no matter how long you have been with someone and never have multiple sex partners, be faithful to one another.

I don't know how I have this trichomoniasis infection. I have not had sex in 4 years and when I had a test done on me about 4 years ago I was told I was clean. I have no pain and no smell, but I did have a discharge that didn't have any smell. I went to have my annual and my doctor called me with this news. I am on antibiotics and I am still at a loss how I got this.

I had a hysterectomy, went for my 6 week checkup, and found I had trichomoniasis. I have not had sex for over 6 weeks. I did not have it before the surgery. But I did after it. I asked the doctor if I had this before the surgery and I was told no. I have had pap tests every 3 months for over a year treating cervical pre cancer. And I started having problems 2 weeks after surgery. I called my doctor, got treated for a yeast infection, over the phone. I feel for certain I got it from the hospital or on recovery. I can’t prove it.

Reading a lot of the comments, it’s not making sense to me either. It doesn’t make sense how I could’ve gotten a trich infection. I thought it was bacterial vaginosis. I had no symptoms expect discharge and a slight smell sometimes, not even all the time. I haven’t been with anyone for over three months. I wonder if it could have stayed that long in my system, or if it could be a misdiagnosis. Then the gynecologist wasn’t even sure; at first she “thought” it is chlamydia, to now this. It was a traumatic appointment too, it was just bad. Hoping it could be wrong.

I got this trich infection from my partner. I didn’t pay it any attention because I thought it would go away. I was very itchy. I scratched it. And when I would go take a shower or pee, it burns really bad. I was pregnant with my first son. I was devastated when the doctor told me that I could pass it to my son if not treated. I took an antibiotic. But when a gynecologist ask me how often I took it, I told him two times a day. He then scolded me and said that I should be taking it for 4 times daily. I felt bad, I hope my son did not contract it from me.

I cheated on my husband, and the man I cheated with exposed his wife. How I found I had trich infection was when his wife went to the doctor and discovered she had STD.

My husband and I were separated back in late August of 2013, I had my PAP test on the December 2nd 2013 and today I found out I was positive for trich; we just got back together the middle of November 2013.

I started having this fishy/foul odor and did not know how to get rid of it. I had it for about a month. I was only with one person and I asked him about whether he was having sex with anyone else and of course, he said no. I didn’t tell him about it because I know it had to be him that I got it from. I went to the emergency room because I had abdominal pain and was treated.

I’m not sure how I contracted this trich infection. I know it sounds awful, but it’s true my boyfriend has been checked out and he was negative of all STDs and STIs. I’m kind of scared.

I was told a day before my birthday that I had trich and I was floored. I told the person I am seeing and he said he doesn't have it. I have not had sex either. Hmm, I am wondering if the only way to get it is through sex or if it could be something else.
