My swelling of feet and ankles usually occurs after consuming high-sodium foods and seasonings (which I love). I live in south Texas. It seems more prominent to have this condition in heat. Elevating my feet does help along with decreasing salt consumption and drinking more water.

I have severe itching on the soles of both feet and I brush them all night with a hard hair comb and then a coarse wash brush. The itching is maddening and feels like hives. Only antihistamines help but not all the time. The following morning my soles are sore and swollen. By midday my legs and feet are stiff and swollen. By the third day the swelling and stiffness have not gone.

I am very thankful for this article because I now have several options to eliminate my swollen ankles and feet. I discovered that a new medication I've been prescribed (amlodipine besylate) may be the cause. I will discuss this with my doctor during my next appointment.

I have a swollen ankle I have no idea what could be causing it. I have never had anything like this before. I can't stand on it for too long and I can't touch it, it hurts.

My ankles and feet have begun to swell up every day for several weeks now. I live in a hot, humid climate. However, I recently visited up north and during my visit, I had no noticeable swelling whatsoever. Upon my return, the swelling has started up again.

I continually get swollen ankles and my feet swell up. I find it hard to wear sandals in the summer and they swell up when I have been working on my feet all day.

I had a medical prescription for high blood pressure changed recently. I was taking losartan/HCT (hydrochlorothiazide) 100, 12.5 mg tablet daily (one) for more than a year and the prescription was changed to losartan potassium 100 mg. So, I am wondering if this change could have caused both my feet and ankles to swell.

I had occasional foot and ankle swelling, but now it seems to be more constant. I am taking hormone medicine for prostate cancer. I have been taking this medicine for about 3 years.

I have skinny ankles. Here recently I have noticed that you cannot see my ankle bones. My feet aren't swollen just my ankles.

I just started exercising and have noticed that my ankles have started to swell. I am very overweight and I am sure that is what is causing the issue.

I am a cancer patient taking chemotherapy and for the past month my right foot and ankle have swollen really big. My doctors don't seem to be concerned about it but it is very worrying.
