I came home from a birthday celebration. I drank a lot of alcohol. Ate when I got off the plane and got stomach flu. Thought I was dying, horrific diarrhea, chills, and stomach gripping. Took Tums and Imodium AD. Then I became constipated. Ate foods with fiber to relieve the constipation. Posted this to say, this definitely has to run its course. I overdid the Imodium AD. Stomach is still cramping but no diarrhea. I have no appetite. One has to ride it out. So hold on, it may take a good 7 to 10 days.
Heating pad on belly provides comfort. Weak or herbal tea with toast (no butter) is best for stomach flu. Most miserable illness I've ever dealt with!
Warm broth with saltine crackers, and 3 to 4 liters of water per day is my home remedy for stomach flu.
