After looking at thousands of articles, I think I have schistosomiasis. I'm just now getting my regular doctor to look into my condition. I've been turned away from the only 2 hospitals where I live. My doctor sent in some of the critters that I've collected from my skin. They start as a black speck. Then change into a white tiny burrowing worm. I've been dealing with this for 6 plus months. I have open sores from my digging out the things. They hurt! My insides must be a mess.

I have had signs and symptoms of schistosomiasis going on 3 years now and only getting worse. I am 46 years old and feel like I am 80. I have been to countless doctors, and been diagnosed with eczema, staph infection, dermatitis, rash, etc., and given countless prescriptions that have done nothing but make me sicker or nothing but waste my time and money. I have taken in samples and they don’t even look at them. I have been treated the same at every doctor’s office, like I am crazy or I am on drugs. I feel like I am dying.

I'm 43 years old and I have uterine fibroids. I don't have any children but have tried for years. No gynecologist I had been to mentioned the fibroids or their impact on fertility until I complained about the heavy periods and abdominal pain. now I'm going to have them removed but I'm scared and don't know what to expect.

I saw a flood of parasites in my urine after pyridine and Cipro for a urinary tract infection. Not a typical case. I worked in a public park with visitors from many countries, cleaning bathrooms. It is not the typical 'foreign vacation' that doctors expect. My schistosomiasis is still not diagnosed or treated. I am aware I have several typical symptoms like pain, spasms in limbs, and loss of hand coordination. Hoping for diagnosis and effective treatment soon. Not easy to collect specimens from urine and very hard to get diagnosis and effective treatment. Hoping for help soon.

I'm 81 years old and mostly every morning after having breakfast, few minutes later I have to run to the toilet with diarrhea. I have been with this schistosomiasis for the last 6 years.

I was told I had “delusional parasitosis” before I even sent samples off! Then I realized my specimens had deteriorated before they arrived at the college. I took months to see an infectious disease specialist, so I finally bought a digital microscope and identified intestinal flukes and two other critters. It’s shameful how they assume that women are just imagining things, now I have the evidence.
