I had drainage, severe tinnitus, and extreme dizziness with a ruptured eardrum. I was nauseous for about 1 week.
I had no pain until the evening when my eardrum perforated. I had severe pain all night, and went to urgent care next morning. He said I had an ear infection, referred me to an ENT the next day who said my eardrum had ruptured! He gave me ear drops and Z-Pak antibiotics. One week later I’m still in pain! Night time is almost unbearable!
With a ruptured eardrum I heard sound like water running, had pain and discharge, and pulled weird things out of my ear.
My daughter was diagnosed yesterday with a ruptured eardrum. She experienced no pain. The only symptoms she experienced was popping in her ears, a stinky odor from her ear, and brown earwax. We only went to the doctor to see if they could treat the smell coming from her ear. That's when we learned of her ruptured eardrum. She does have hearing loss in her left ear, however we are not sure until we see the ENT.
I had excruciating pain, to the point I couldn't move my head to look down, bend over or lie down. Made me cry as no anti-inflammatory or paracetamol tablets worked. Eventually I could hear the crackling (eardrum ruptured) and slowly blood tinged liquid seeped from my ear. And the pain slowly lessened.
