I got toxemia really bad and was put on bed rest on my left side in my 7th month! I finally ended up having to be hospitalized with preeclampsia! We ended up having to have a C-section and my son had to spend 8 days in the NICU. I will admit I was afraid at times things would turn out bad but my son is now 31 and we beat toxemia!

I suffered with severe preeclampsia at age 39. I began getting symptoms at 20 weeks pregnancy but my doctor didn't listen. First symptom was numbness in my hands and I couldn't sleep at night until the baby was born. I was hospitalized and put on bed rest at 26 weeks. Blood pressure was high quite often even during hospital stay. Baby was born at 33 weeks and stayed in the NCU for 2 1/2 weeks. I continued to have high blood pressure for 3 months after pregnancy. My kidneys were affected and now I take lisinopril strictly to try and help heal kidney filters because I still have protein in my urine. This is my second pregnancy with preeclampsia and my last fortunately. I am hoping my kidneys will heal back to normal.
