I picked up poison ivy or poison oak or possibly sumac from smoke particles in fires in the northern California area that have accumulated all summer long. J wore boots and a long sleeve shirt. The smoke particles went right in through my clothing. Dense clothing is highly recommended, and leather gloves. A complete leather wardrobe would be best and don't forget eye protection.

I have had a rash now for 4 weeks covering my arms, back, chest and legs, but not the face. They are raised dark red bumps and some spread looking like burnt skin; dry scaly skin on these sites. All topical applications are temporary relief but cold showers prevent swelling.
