I have pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) in my left knee. It comes on every 4 years, not sure what activates it each time. The symptoms are stiffness, lack of movement, and swelling. It’s the worst first thing in the morning and after sitting for long periods of time (like on a plane). I also have had less severe symptoms in my right knee but read it’s not all that uncommon. Doctors couldn’t initially determine the problem. I used my MRI photos and scanned the internet for similar stories and images. You are your best advocate.
