I have had waves of nausea since yesterday. I lay down for a nap this morning and woke up after an hour to find I had thrown up all over myself and the bed. I leaned over and threw up again. I haven't kept anything down since I woke up. I'm vomiting every time I move a certain way. I have thrown up at least 10 times. I am prone to stomach flu and profuse vomiting and I have 2 to 3 random vomiting bouts a year, in addition. My muscles ache because I'm throwing up so much.

It is almost a month and half now. I feel nauseated anytime of the day. Nothing related to food. I think this is something to do with psychological aspect of my mind, because if for example I look at the food and start wondering how they were prepared, who prepared them and how the handled them, I will definitely vomit after eating them. It is like I am always guarding against vomiting every minute. I am physical fit and healthy, LFTs (liver function tests) were fine.

My wife has had constant nausea for the last year. Local doctors have no reason, nor does the Mayo Clinic. It can leave almost immediately and then return in an hour. Sometimes she will vomit, but no food. Food does not seem to cause the nausea, she can eat while nauseated but she rarely vomits after eating. Most of the time the nausea is the worst during the night time.

I started getting nausea and started vomiting about 4 weeks ago. Sometimes when a wave of nausea hits I start sweating. I vomit first thing in the morning, when I wake up from a nap. It is usually dry heaves if I do not drink something. The nausea is off and on throughout the day, the vomiting will occur after smelling certain smells or eating certain foods. I did a home pregnancy test at the begging of this, it was negative.

I have had severe bouts of vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea all my life. Over the years, it has gotten worse. I had an upper and lower GI done and they discovered that I had acid reflux and IBS. However, sometimes I experience something else entirely where I vomit profusely for hours. I also have Meniere's, which triggers my vomiting. However, for the past three weeks, I have been vomiting nonstop. I dropped 10 pounds in two days, and I can't hold anything down. I don't know if it's a virus or a parasite, but I have this weird feeling in my stomach. It almost feels like hunger, but it's different. I have no appetite. I'm not stressed out at all, and I don't worry about life normally, but I would really like to stop vomiting. Along with diarrhea, my feces have been green. I can't even hold any of the BRAT diet down. I don't know how much longer my body can take it, I feel like I’m on the verge of collapsing. Nausea can be caused by Meniere's, but not vomiting like this. I don't have stomach cramps, like from IBS, and I'm not burning from acid reflux.

For people who are suffering from a mucus cough try adding an antihistamine to your daily medications. For me at least it will stop the post nasal drip that lisinopril can cause which also causes the nausea and the need to throwing up.

Every time I drink anything I want to throw up. I have to force myself to throw up because I feel so bad in my abdomen.

For many months, I have experienced a severe nausea, generally within half an hour after eating. It's sometimes triggered by certain odors, especially room fresheners/deodorizers. I actually gag and "vomit" a bit of fluid. However, the last two days, the reaction has been much more severe. This morning, I vomited all of breakfast. There is no stomach pain involved, it's more of a gag reaction from my throat area. I've tried eliminating certain foods, but that doesn't seem to affect it. I’m wondering if it is at all related to the Lisinopril I’ve been taking for my high blood pressure for about six months now.

I am a patient that is just starting to be tested because I feel nausea 10 seconds right after I eat a meal and feel a gagging feeling for about 10 seconds and then the feeling goes away. I sometimes feel some discomfort, but nothing else. I have had an X-ray, an ultrasound, and another test that checks if the gallbladder is giving out the right amount of chemical enzymes from my liver. They all came out good. I also had a blood test that came out good. I am taking a test where I have to drink a liquid and then blow into a plastic bag to check for bacteria. After that test, I am taking an endoscopy next week. I still do not know what is wrong with me.

I'm not in the greatest shape because I have always either gotten a ride or driven everywhere I've gone. I have a fear of buses so I have never ridden one. Two weeks ago I ended up having to start walking to and from work in the AZ heat. I work from 8-5 M-F. I only lived just under four miles from my work, so it was not that bad. Circumstances changed and moved 3 days ago and I moved just under 15miles away. So I got a bike and rode it to work. I was worn out, hot and just miserable, but I survived. On the way home both my front and back brakes started to stick, so it felt like I was riding up hill the whole way home. I ended up breaking my water bottle so I did not have anything to drink and I had nothing to lock my bike up so I did not stop. No one was available for a ride, I decided (hastily), to just get it done and over with. Not five min after I got home I started vomiting, I tried everything to cool down, but did not stop till 2:30am. I was okay by the time I had to go to work again that same morning. I decided I was going to ride the bus, so I packed up my four kids, and walked to the bus stop a mile away. Not even a block into the walk I started shaking and couldn’t breathe. I made it to day care and work. Now I started vomiting again and everything I drink only makes me vomit more. I am still at work and do not know what I should do.

I’ve been feeling nausea since December 8th 2013. I have low temperature of 95.9 F, am light headed and have fluttering in my chest. I can eat but feel like throwing up all the time. My head hurts and I really hurt all over and I have arthritis in my hips, neck and shoulder. I had a bladder lift in November.

I have a 6-year-old that has had vomiting issues for two weeks now. He only throws up when sleeping in bed, but it’s not every night. It’s been about five times in the last two weeks. The rest of the day, he is fine and only complains of a little stomach ache. He has no fever.

I have had this happen to me twice, each time it was when I lied down at night. I got a horrible pain in my stomach, as if someone did a karate chop, and then it would burn really bad and then I would start vomiting. The first time I was sick throughout the night. The second time, after the initial bout of vomiting ended, I ate two Gas-X and threw them up and then tried again. The second time I took the Gas-X, it calmed my stomach down and stopped the pain. (It was not a cramping pain but a stabbing pain, like being hit in the stomach.)

I have been experiencing nausea all day for four days now. I also have been throwing up when I eat the following foods: milk, yogurt, greasy foods like chips, and cheesy foods. My nausea is accompanied by bouts of sweating, weakness, fevers and constipation. (I have always been a regular person, three- to-six times a day.) I am very thirsty all the time. I took an over- the-counter pregnancy test and it was negative. So that’s not it. I have no idea what is causing this. I am going to the doctor in one week for a check-up.

For at least two months, possibly longer, I have had terrible stomach aches for apparently no reason. The pain is sharp and is localized in the top of my stomach just under my diaphragm. I also have had bloating, gas, and occasionally diarrhea. I ate next to nothing for two days and the pain left, but within a week’s time, the pain came back. However, when the pain came back, it came with nausea and vomiting. The pain lessened with no food, but when I tried not eating when the stomach ache returned, I ended up vomiting even more. At least when I ate, I only had pain and no vomiting. I have also had a low-grade fever almost on a daily basis. I am clueless as to what is causing this.

My daughter suffers frequent attacks of vomiting and nausea. I am not sure of the cause and the doctors keep telling me it is a virus. One doctor also told me it could be an intolerance to dairy products but they did not test her for this. I feel it is more than a virus since it occurs so frequently. She is only 4 years old.

I feel extremely nauseated when my routine changes, for example when going back to work after a holiday. Sometimes it is more of a feeling of longing/missing something that triggers it. I can go for periods of time feeling fine until I think back on the thing that has changed, and then I suddenly feel quite sick again. I do not feel like eating but force myself to because otherwise I feel hungry and unwell. I do not actually experience vomiting.

I have nausea, vomiting and low grade fever. My blood tests are with normal limits. I have nausea and vomiting on an empty stomach. This has been going on for months. I had my gall bladder removed in September. I have a hiatal hernia.

Two weeks ago today, I had lunch at an upscale cafe. Within two hours, I vomited in my car on the way home. I was sick two more times that day. Since then, I have felt nauseated several times a day. Yesterday, two hours after eating a banana, I felt nauseated, and vomited several times. I do have reflux problems, from time to time, during the night. I have mild heartburn every day now and subtle pain here and there in my stomach.

I was watching my son play the Sony PS3 and was feeling fine when all of a sudden I felt overwhelmingly nauseous. It was at first to be thought to be a video game induced thing. But now 12 hours later, it is still with me. I took Dramamine before I went to bed. Felt fine this morning. I drank coffee and felt fine. Then I became hungry. I ate and now I feel nauseous again. I think it odd how it came about. Antacids and Anti-gas medications do not do anything. I am going to try Dramamine again and maybe not eat solid foods for awhile, as well.

My friend has had two episodes of profuse vomiting. She will vomit like nine times and then end up going to the hospital for treatment of dehydration and then sent home because they cannot find a cause. This just happened again, it has been nine months since the last episode. The hospital ran only basic tests.

My seven year old daughter is experiencing nausea now for over two weeks and the doctor keeps saying it is a virus. The nausea is constant, variable in intensity and especially bothersome during a ride in the car. About 75% of the time she just wants to lay down and rest. In the two week period she has experienced two days of vomiting nine days apart. She eats very little and isn't much interested in her normal activities. I have insisted on blood work (yesterday) and we are awaiting results currently.

Great article that drew me to your site on vomiting and diarrhea. My son, now 19, has been dealing with "involuntary vomiting and diarrhea" since the age of 11. We’ve been everywhere (hospitals, specialty clinics) and met with everyone (gp., gastro specialists, heart specialists, psych's). Diagnoses of cyclic vomiting, gastroenteritis, gastritis, GERD, (in addition to numerous others) and also being a psychological issue have all been ruled out. He has learned to deal with "a.m. only" vomiting for the past several years now and the ongoing diarrhea. After 7 years of being picked/poked/prodded he said, "no more." We’ve only encountered one other person that has this condition with no name or diagnosis attached to it and that person was one of his high school teachers. He did go to Mayo and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with him. He is now in his late 30's and still dealing with it, as we are and will continue to do so

I am a 43 year old female who has both reactive hypoglycemia and GERD. I am nauseated most every minute of every day. I am on metoclopramide, which is okay, but does not take the nausea away. I have to make sure that I eat about 4 times a day, and in small quantities. My mom had gallbladder disease and had hers out, but, I have had a scan for gallbladder and of course, nothing shows up. The reason I had the scan done is because I have waist-high stabbing pains which are excruciating. I am about to lose my mind from being nauseated for so long someone mentioned Meniere’s disease also, I do not have any health insurance and the test for it is expensive. Please...anybody...with any information that might help me feel better.

My son is 12 years old. We were out all morning cutting weeds under the fence in the pasture. He complained of being hot and said he had a headache. We went in and he vomited, he took a cool shower and vomited again, he still has a headache and is afraid to eat or drink. I asked him to look into the light and to look straight down, neither of which seem to bother him.

I have been having nausea and vomiting for a week, off and on, with pain on the left side just under my rib cage. My last blood test showed I wasn’t absorbing my vitamins and the ER nurse gave me iron vitamins and magnesium. They also treated me for high blood sugar.

I have had chronic nausea for 2 years now. Mostly in the a.m., but many times after I eat. I was diagnosed with GERD 8 years ago and I am able to keep the heartburn at bay. I had a hysterectomy 5 weeks ago hoping the female problems were the cause, but it has not changed. I do not have insurance, so I am unable to get the expensive diagnostic test to find a "reason". In the meantime I have not found any relief with over the counter meds.

I was nauseous yesterday and the day before. I usually take hot baths to sooth the stomach and drink ginger ale.
