I had a bad attack of dizziness 3 months ago from mastoiditis. I have been lightheaded ever since. I had a CT showing fluid and debris in the left mastoid sinus. I previously had 4 cholesteatoma surgeries. I am now scheduled for mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty surgery. I hope it helps my dizziness!

I was throwing up for months. I have had 3 rounds of antibiotics due to bronchitis, and one of the rounds was for inflammation of the mastoid bone, mastoiditis, that was found through a CT scan.

I had an earache at the front part of my ear and jaw. Then the next day I woke up in pain in my ear and jaw and it was noticeably swollen on the right side of my face. I was very tired for a couple weeks prior to this happening. Actually I thought it was my jaw. I saw my doctor right away when I saw the swelling. So I was put onto antibiotics for mastoiditis immediately. It is only the 3rd day out so I hope it goes away because I woke up at 3 am with severe pain. But I took Ibuprofen and it keeps the worst pain away.

Symptoms of mastoiditis are pressure, sensitivity to light, dizziness, nausea, weakness, and pain on the right side of my head and neck.

I was being treated for an ear infection. Oral antibiotics and ear drops were not helping. With a CT scan I was diagnosed with mastoiditis. I was referred to an infectious disease doctor and am currently undergoing 6 weeks of IV infusions, twice a day, 7 days a week for 6 weeks. Another CT scan will be required to see if the infection is gone or will require surgery. Complications have included tiredness, weakness, loss of appetite, and bowel issues. I don't wish this kind of problem on anyone.

I had ongoing sinus and ear infection from mastoiditis, that spread despite antibiotic treatment, over a period of 4 or 5 years.
