I have always felt mammograms were painful, but the last time was the worst. It was so painful I was crying and the day after 3/4 of one of my breasts was badly bruised. I now am reluctant to have another one.

I was recalled for a mammogram and thankfully given the all clear. However, the procedure is very painful due to the design of the equipment. I think a cup shaped machine could hold the breast and move around without squeezing and causing such pain.

The woman I care for tells me that a mammogram does indeed hurt when the technician pinches the breast between two hard surfaces. I keep reading articles that says it doesn't hurt.

I had the regular x-ray done, two per breast, but after a 15 minute wait, the technician came in and said she had to do 1 more. This one had both breasts being done at the same time.
