I was started on Gammaplex IV infusion therapy. There was then a nationwide shortage and they changed me to Gammaked. Then I was on Octagam. The infusion process is only as good as the people who are involved in the care. I have had good nurses and a good pharmacy, I've had an okay nurse and a good pharmacy. I've had a great nurse and a horrible pharmacy. I understand now why people give up and die. The experience has been tough and my hopes have brought me through. I am not sure if I will complete my treatments or not.

This is my first month getting IV infusion therapy, and my nursing assistant has worked with my rheumatologist as far as getting lab work done and when. I'm 2 days once a month, 6 hours each day, and she makes it so much easier!

I am facing my first IV infusion therapy with Remicade after using Humira for 6 years for Crohn’s disease. Another person who is experienced has given me good information. I’m waiting for the phone call from the hospital.
