Thanks to BuBruce86 for your comment. We just lost our 37 year old son. Found him on the kitchen floor. Looked exactly like he was sleeping but he was dead. No autopsy but coroner said it was gastrointestinal bleeding caused by years of alcohol abuse. We found evidence that he had recently vomited blood. I've been struggling with how that could happen and your comment clarified it perfectly for me. Take care of yourself and please stop with the alcohol. Addiction is awful.

I fell down stairs, and hit quite hard. Right buttock cheek is almost entirely dark red (larger than football size), injury site is quite hard – I wonder if I should be worried about excessive internal bleeding. Or if I should be worried about getting an embolism or anything else serious happening.

As of today, 05/08/2018, I am a little hesitant to find where I am bleeding. Urinating and bowel movements hurt and come with blood every single time I use the restroom. I have chronic fibromyalgia, along with celiac disease. I watch what I eat, however, my stools and urine still come with blood. I'm a little concerned of a bleeding ulcer, but I have no insurance and I'm afraid I won't get the proper treatment due to having no insurance.

Angioplasty caused the internal bleeding after arm was left up at least for couple of hours and arm was overstretched locking shoulder. The needle where angioplasty entered bruised the area and I have a number of lumps at the arm entry. Due to many procedures my brachial left arm artery is damaged.

My story is a simple one of chronic alcohol abuse. Over a decade of very heavy binge drinking has done terrible damage to my internal everything. I have been diagnosed with esophageal varices. Basically when my blood pressure raises even slightly I run the risk of internal bleeding into my intestinal tract. The last time this happened my hemoglobin dropped to a 3.8 and I was airlifted to a major trauma center. Here I received 8 units of blood and a ton of vitamins, a drug to help stop the bleeding and 6 esophageal bands. This is now my life. Since I don't have health insurance I can only go get treatment at the emergency room. You can't feel the bleeding when it starts. You can only feel it right before you have the urge to uncontrollably vomit blood. And now you are hoping to get to a trauma center before you die. I have stopped drinking but this has only made my trips to the hospital less frequent. I get to face the fact that I will die as a young adult because of the damage I have done to my body. For everyone out there that suffers from this condition and it isn't their own fault I am so sorry for what you are going through. For sufferers like myself that brought this on by our own doing please get your story out to our youths before you pass. They need to see the dark side of what seems to just be fun drinking shenanigans.

Four weeks ago a 12 cm Baker's cyst ruptured. Today my leg from knee down is peeling and it is warm around my calf and is a pink purple color. I am not sure if I am healing or if there is internal bleeding. The pain still wakes me up.

To a comment published October 13, my friend has the exact same thing, and had the exact same procedures, with nothing found. I'm not sure what else to do. He has been hospitalized twice, and released twice with no definitive answers about the cause of internal bleeding. He is being released again today after almost passing out yesterday with a blood pressure of 90/40. I wish someone here that can point me in the right direction. I am worried for my friend. I'm afraid that not all that can be done has been done. I am also a bit concerned that since he is on Medicare that he is being pushed out.

I had pain under ribs and at back; turned out my appendix had ruptured causing an abscess the size of a large grapefruit next to my liver. By that time I had collapsed lung and pneumonia so they could not operate, but drained the abscess. There was also one attached to my stomach. A year later a very tiny appendix was removed, clearly the remainder of the appendix.

She was diagnosed with small cell cancer at the age of 52. It was in the lung and lymph node in her neck. She was treated in a hospital with radiation and chemotherapy for 6 months. Her cancer went into remission and did not return until she was 80 (2016) years old.

My internal bleeding was caused when I got in a bad snowboard accident. They took my pulse lying down, sitting up, and then standing up. They then stuck me with an IV and sent me via ambulance to ICU for 3 days. It was awful. I had bruised liver, bruised kidney, and internal bleeding. I just remember being in a lot of pain and being super dizzy.

I went to the bath room this morning and there was bright red blood after wiping. I have been taking clopidogrel 75 mg for the last 13 years. I wonder if that may have caused the bleeding.

Last week I was taken into the emergency room with major pain on the left side of my stomach. The pain would radiate down as well. Had a catscan done and found out I tore a muscle I my stomach and have a pocket of blood in my stomach. I was admitted into the hospital for the night. The pain has subsided, however, it still hurts a lot and have been very tired. I see the Dr again this Friday, however, thinking I should be seen sooner. When I was released from the hospital he had told me the swollenness and pain should go away within 4 to 5 days. It has now been 9 days.

In 2003 I had internal bleeding had 3 transfusions and the bleeding stopped, in 2008 for the month of May the bleeding started again had 3 transfusions and the bleeding stopped, but in 2009 the bleeding came back and did not stop i had 52 bloods transfusions and over 10 scopes top and bottom had 2 bone marrow biopsy, took the camera pill it showed the bleeding was in the lower intestines had exploratory surgery but the surgeon did not see any bleeding there, but the gastrologist wanted him to cut off my small intestines but the surgeon said no, thank god he did not. I found another gastrologist and he told me everyone was doing the scopes when my blood count was under 10 he said in order for them to find the bleed my count has to be over 10, so I went and got 3 transfusions and he went in and found I had a busted blood vessel under the small intestine at the top. I want to thank god for finding me a doctor who cares about his patients and not trying to make money off my insurance.

The night following corrective surgery for an umbilical hernia, I had severe pain in my abdomen. The pain was just under my ribcage, all the way down to my groin. It was worse when I moved or tried to take a breath. When I called my surgeon, he wanted to see me. The 30 minute ride was excruciating and I kept trying to cry because it hurt so badly, but it hurt so bad that I'd have to make myself stop. Upon examination, he sent me to the ER for a CT scan and lab work. Some of the blood from the surgery had spilled into my abdomen and was irritating my diaphragm (that's why it hurt to breath and move). It resolved on its own and I was sent home with pain meds to get through the pain.

My brother had an aortic aneurism. His doctor said everyone in the family should be checked for the condition. I was notified by my doctor's office that the technician could not find my aorta. I wonder if I should insist on another test.

My dad had been having hyponatremia symptoms for several months. They thought it was congestive heart failure. The symptoms are the same for severe anemia. My dad was then admitted to the emergency room on 2/13/14 with an Hgb of 4.2. He lost 2/3 of his blood. They gave him 8 units of blood, an upper (endoscopy) and colonoscopy. We went to the doctor 10 days later, his Hgb was 12. Three weeks later it was 8.1, he went to hospital for 2 units and swallowed camera. Nothing has shown any blood loss, his stools are normal, not dark. I can"t figure out where the blood is going. He has had a swollen abdomen and they are supposed to run a CAT scan or MRI. I hope they are going to find the source. His iron is high, so that is not the problem. I hope they find it sooner rather than later.

Tuesday June, 10th my mom had a liver biopsy. They said it went well. Saturday June, 14th she went to the ER vomiting blood. They moved her to a larger hospital in the a bigger town. The Scan revealed a cut bile duct. They put a pump in her stomach and a pick line in her neck. She received 2 pints that day. The results of the biopsy were negative. Her liver is fine. She has fluid around her heart and blockages in her heart. Today June, 22nd she received another 2 pints of blood. Her breathing is labored and she is in pain even though she is taking Morphine every 3 hours. Don't get a liver biopsy.

The patient I know was just in an accident. He dislocated his knee and had to have it reconstructed. He also suffered a pelvis and tailbone fracture, along with head trauma. His vitals have dropped and they are giving him six pints of blood. Can these symptoms cause internal bleeding?

My mother has been in and out of the hospital for the past month for internal bleeding. The doctors have scoped her upper and lower gastrointestinal tract as well as giving her a pill to swallow that has a miniature camera in it. Still, to this day they cannot find the cause of bleeding and are stating that she will be lucky to see Christmas. There HAS to be something they are overlooking and there HAS to be something they can do for her.

I was taking Plavix and aspirin when a CT scan showed a blood clot, bleeding and old bleed. The doctor took off Plavix. I spent 18 days in the hospital.

I had pain in my back and leg which I thought was due to a preexisting condition, but my neighbor called an ambulance. I am under investigation for anemia, and I had what I thought was diarrhea on the Tuesday. I was told on Wednesday that I had lost 5 pints of blood. The cause was an ulcer. I had a 5-unit transfusion between Wednesday and Thursday last week and I am home now.

I first got internal bleeding after I was involved in an attack. I got shot at the age of 15 and I was with my friends. My best friend died, and I got shot. I was hemorrhaging and now I'm recovering. I'm now 17, and it has taken so long for me to be able to walk. I still can't walk properly, and I have a scar. My internal bleeding recurs.

My internal bleeding was caused by an ovarian cyst that ruptured and took out a nearby blood vessel. The symptoms were subtle at first: sharp menstrual pains, but later it got difficult to breathe and I had a sharp pain running up my left shoulder blade. And of course, my blood pressure dropped significantly.

My husband fell 8 ft from a ladder onto concrete floor. Broke his left humorous bone in arm, which had a rod put in the bone to heel. Broke the socket/ball of left hip, was put in traction for 3 weeks. Release from hospital, his lower right side of back had a swollen pouch the size of the palm of my hand. Hospital staff said probably caused from laying so long in the hosp. bed. He was mobile with a walker and about 5 weeks out of hospital while going to the bathroom instead of bowel movement there was a lot of blood in the toilet. The place on his back was reduced in size. Was this a blood clot from the fall and as of yesterday and today has slept most of the time.

I spent over a week in a VA hospital due internal bleeding. Large amount of blood was being passed thru my stools. After a CT scan, two colonoscopy's, and a upper GI endoscopy, a exact cause of the bleeding was not find. My bleeding stopped after the 6th day enabling me to avoid a planned blood transfusion. My blood count dropped from a 14 level to 8.2 level. At this time the Medical staff conclusion was Diverticulosis of the colon. Some altering of my medications but no real advice on what to avoid in my diet.

I had a fall during a morning walk. The outside of the thigh hit the edge of a footpath. The impact was like a strong hit on the muscles. No external bleeding occurred. Until 4 hours nothing was visible, no pain, no difficulty in walking etc. But after 4 hours it started hurting and swelling appeared. Then I was not able to walk even to the bathroom due to severe pain. An Ortho examined after 12 hours of the fall and opined that there is no fracture of bones and also said that I should stop taking my daily dose (Ecosprin 75 mg) of aspirin. In fact I had not taken the aspirin on that day on my own. Ice was not applied until the Ortho examined it. The swelling is reduced to a considerable extent since then and the pain too, but there is blue color all over the leg besides the 'hit' part, its opposite part, knee and below knee. There is some swelling and pain on the knee. Though the Doc has told that it will take at least 8 days to return to normal, and now it is 7th day today, I feel a bit worried because the pain and swelling though reduced, is still there. I am on medication for diabetes, hyper tension and cholesterol.

I was in a bicycle accident and after I was checked out on scene and released by the paramedics, I later passed out and puked in my boss's office. I was taken to the hospital and they did an ultrasound and noticed fluid around my spleen. My blood pressure dropped so dramatically that they couldn't give me anything for the pain. It's now 11 days later, and the pain is just starting to diminish from where I had internal bleeding.

My internal bleeding was caused by a routine outpatient laparoscopy. The doctors nicked my omentum while removing scar tissue. I lost 2 1/2 pints of blood before they decided to do anything and acknowledge wow this girl is in agony. I had never felt that incredible amount of pain in my life. After it slowly began to bleed and leak if you will, it still took over 12 hours for them to realize as other organs began failing. Needless to say a small incision turned into 2 large incisions, 4 day ICU stay and additional days in regular room. Still having complications from everything they did that day and it’s been almost 5 months. Mysteriously my records have gone missing. Sorry guess I went a little over the top on my reason for internal bleeding.

My Mom went under surgery for breast cancer and according to the doctors the operation was a success. A few weeks following the surgery my Mom died. The death Certificate or pathology report read that she died of internal bleeding. It is of my personal opinion that the surgeon performed a poor operation of my mom which resulted in the internal bleeding and her death.

Recently I was hospitalized for internal bleeding. I thought I was having muscle spasms. I was rushed into surgery and a soft ball size blood clot was removed, along with blood in my abdomen. All together 2700cc of blood was removed from my abdomen. The doctors don't have a clue as to what happened. I didn't have any injury or warning that I was sick. The doctors told me my blood clot was 2-3 days old and I was bleeding 15-16 hours prior to surgery.
