I have been doing Jiu-jitsu and Karate for about 1 year. My outer knee is extremely painful when weight is put on it in a kneeling position. I understand it is an iliotibial band issue and I should use stretches to cure the pain. I have not stopped either discipline as I don't want to fall behind.
