My flu started with post nasal drip, it gave me a sore throat, and I was barely able to swallow. In 24 hours, I was aching, and had nasal congestion and fever. OTC medicine gave some temporary relief but made me unable to sleep. By day 5, I was still feverish. I now had sinus infection, and cough with bronchial congestion. I changed my medication from just decongestant to a combination with decongestant, expectorant, cough suppressant and pain reliever. In 2 days I began to feel better, but coughing still on day 14. I had a negative COVID test.
