I am a 37 year old living after 4 years of diagnosis of type 1a Hodgkin's disease. After the first symptoms appeared due to weight loss I was advised a scan and biopsy. It was confirmed soon after and I was given only ABVD chemotherapy for six months and now with regular follow ups every 6 months and a good diet I am healthy. Wish this supports all out there in need. I would like to know how all of you out there cope up with insomnia or sleep problems. So far my doctor says I am doing well. With lots of help through these articles I am realizing how lucky we all are. Thanks, I am grateful to have these messages to read. Luck to all of you.

My 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin"s lymphoma in 2010. She received 12 weeks of chemotherapy and 4.5 weeks of radiation and she has now been in remission for 3 years and is doing great!

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's in 1977 and underwent radiation therapy via linear accelerator. Although I am now cancer free, I am dealing with the long term effects of the radiation dosages given back then. I now have congestive heart failure (CHF) with 3 of the 4 heart valves and my aorta being severely calcified, and stenosis. My cardiologist has told me that the majority of heart valve repairs/replacements being done now are in patients who were treated for Hodgkin's in the 70s and 80s. Get follow up cardiac care and watch for early CHF!

I was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma in Dec, 1971. Went to Dr for bad cold over Christmas college break. He suggested a biopsy of the neck lymph node. By Spring I had under gone one round of radiation, had my spleen removed in April, 72. Did another round of radiation. Stayed in school , with lighter load. Graduated 1974, taught public schools for 37 years. Now retired. No relapses, healthy, had one child in 84. I think of myself as one of the lucky ones.

I'm 48 years old and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in November 2012. My treatment was ABVD chemotherapy every other week. My scans were clean after eight treatments, but I had four more just to be safe. I feel really good now, but I gained a lot of weight from the steroids. Now I need to work on that.
