I have sharp pains in my left hip that feel like I'm being stung by a hornet over and over again. It's quite painful and only subsides slightly. I have no idea what this is and why it is happening.

My adductor muscles felt tight for about a week before pain got bad. I was playing golf and completed the round with no issues but next day I could not put weight on my left leg. Now pain is so bad that I can't sleep, pain shoots down my knee and shin and I'm limping badly. All this happened 3 weeks ago and I've barely left the couch since. Im taking 500 mg naproxen twice daily but I don't feel any better. The pain is on the left side of my hip and feels like the worst groin pull I've ever had.

Eighteen months ago while mowing I thought I had pulled my groin. A couple of months later my left hip began hurt while walking. Putting on my socks and shoes, or even sleeping on my left side became unbearable. It would feel like my groin was actually tearing while doing these activities. This caused a great deal of stress on my relationships, most importantly my marriage and with my two young daughters (9 and 11) with whom I couldn't even play. I am now getting a hip replacement.

I have hip pain when walking, sitting on the floor, and crossing legs. Now I am limping, and it is tender to the touch.

I am a 44 years old male who used to be very active, now I can barely walk, and use a cane sometimes. My hip has rotated back and up causing my left leg to become much shorter than my right. I have not seen a doctor ever for this injury because I have no insurance and more likely because I thought it would go away. It's been debilitating for the last 3 years. I have a big bump on my injured side, I guess that's probably bursitis. The pain is so unbearable I don't sleep much and it's affecting my entire way of life.

I have hip pain in my right hip joint since last two months. This pain comes if I slept on my right side, sat on the floor, or if I touch the right hip side and also when I move my right leg.

I had to wear a boot after ankle surgery. I didn't realize I needed to wear a shoe that was of equal height. Now my hip and sacroiliac joint are very painful and getting worse... it's been a year. I have done physiotherapy, chiropractic treatment, pool exercises and no relief from hip pain.

Over the past three months, I have a sharp pain in my left hip. It is random, and it can happen at any time during the day, when I'm most active. The pain feels like a wasp or bee sting and only lasts a few seconds. I am wondering if this is a pinch nerve or something else.

My hip pain feels like a deep bruise in my hip. It starts at the bone. Just starts to hurt inside and crosses my leg, thigh and groin. I can't lie on it.

I have hip pain problem on a temporary basis. Whenever I wake up in the morning, it feels like a pin point pain in the back of my hip. After I warm up sometime it decreases. Again in the night the pain comes repeatedly. It continues for 2 to 3 days, after which the pain that is on the right hip changes to the left leg of the hip.

I get excruciating hip pain upon waking up. I can hardly stand. I kind of attribute it to the soft mattress I sleep on.

I get pain suddenly on my hip joint. Suppose when I am walking it comes suddenly, then some time it gets ok within a few minutes or sometimes you feel it a bit longer as it is a pain. I need to sit down immediately otherwise can’t stand. When I was young I used to get it sometimes, especially when I was standing on cold floor. So I wonder if I need to take any supplements and also recently I injured my knee while doing yoga.

Four years ago I attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train. Now I am having real bad pain on my left side hip. The pain seems as if it is getting worse. When I stand or sit too long or make an attempt to get up I have to grab my side to keep from falling. The pain is real sharp. I don’t know what to do.

My right hip feels like it is in the joint, not on top of the hip. I have more severe pain after a hard/fast run/interval or hill repeats. It tends to ease after a week of the above, even when still running but slowly. Cycling has no impact on it at all.

I have recently been having hip pain after walking for about 20 minutes. I then have to sit and the pain goes.

When I was 16 or 17 I slipped and fell down and I got severe pain on my knee. Then I just massaged it and I used some ointment like Iodex then I recovered from the pain in 15 20 days. After that it used to pain sometimes when I walk for 3 or 4 hours. I used to do simple exercises at home which helped to relieve the pain. After many years now I'm 46, I joined the gym and by 2 days severe pain started in my hip. I did simple 4 or 5 warm up exercises like cycling, walking on the treadmill, twisting, weights, and back stretching; simple, there was no any pain in my body. But on the 3rd morning when I woke up I couldn't stand because there was severe pain deep inside the lower leg, upper leg and hip. After that I went to a local expert message man, and after three days the pain was same. Then I went to an Ayurveda clinic, the doctor checked me and asked me to join 7 days therapy, acupuncture and oil messages. The doctor prescribed me 5 different medicine for my nerves, but till now I have the same severe pain. I am looking for any option without operation. The x-ray report says there is deep compression of nerves.

I have very painful problems with my shoulders and hips. I am awakened every night with the shoulder I am sleeping on hurting, therefore I turn over. Then I am awakened by the severe pain in my right hip. The pain is so bad that it hurts for hours after I get up. I got up last night at 4:30 AM and 6 AM for an Advil for pain.

My hip pain is most severe on weight bearing, and getting in and out of bed and car. Getting up from the couch also hurts.

I had hip replacement in 2001. Only just 3 months back severe hip pain started. Some medication and cold treatment were taken. After 45 days treatment now it is normal and there is no hip pain.

I have had hip replacement and 2 hip revisions on the same hip. I was doing well for about a year and now I’m hurting bad when I walk. I wonder if there could be something wrong.

My right hip hurts all the time. My doctor has given me injections but they last for a short time. Sometimes I can hardly walk. It is getting almost unbearable.
