Sickle cell disease isn't listed as one of the illnesses, but I receive apheresis treatments every 3 weeks as treatment for this disease. Sometimes I can receive treatment and feel as if I have I had brand new batteries installed in my system. But sometimes I don't feel very good and I need a few days to recover from the treatment. Because I get them so often, my experiences seem to vary. But I understand that it is helping my health overall, so I continue to receive the treatment.

I was using the plasma blood bank for extra money during a trying time in my life. The apheresis machine’s blood filter was clogged with slop/junk from burgers to heavy cholesterol in my blood. After the first donation my blood flowed properly and clear of congestants; aspirin worked quicker and my health improved as my bicycle was the way I traveled back then. Best thing I've done to my body.

I received my treatment for sickle cell anemia prior to waiting until I was hospitalized, which worked perfectly. My treatment worked and it did what my doctors intended it for. It has been almost 5 months since I repeated my treatment. I rejected the treatment at first due to fear of contracting other sicknesses. However, my medical team had great knowledge and knew and understood how to take care of me.
