Blisters appearing like pimples, fever and severe pain that caused unconsciousness were the first symptoms of genital herpes in me.

Just before my divorce, my husband came home from work with a horrible 'heat rash' around his genitals. He would not even let me touch him because he hurt so badly. I tried to get him treatments for heat rash since he said that was what it was. None of them worked. I left him a few weeks later due to his abuse. I was so depressed at the time, that I did not care that it hurt to urinate and that I had what I thought was a pimple near my anus. It wasn't until a couple years later and a new obstetrician/gynecologist who said that I should have the full spectrum of tests run that I found out that I had genital herpes. I now know what is happening when I have an outbreak and do not blame it on hemorrhoids anymore. It is painful, bloody and not something I would wish on my worst enemy. I am now celibate by choice because I will not expose anyone else to this horrible disease. I confronted him with it and, of course, he denies having it, but will not go get tested to confirm that. We had been married for over 10 years and I trusted him to be faithful. Obviously, that is not the fact. Please be careful and watch for the symptoms even if you think you are in a monogamous relationship, or you could pay for it for the rest of your life.

I just learned yesterday that I have herpes 2. My symptoms came fast and furious. Itching and burning beyond belief. The pain is unbearable. Urinating caused me to scream. I couldn't sleep at night because of the pain. I often had to have cold compresses between my legs to get relief. I made an appointment with my doctor and she knew right away by looking. I was not expecting it at all.

For the past three months, I'm having outbreaks of genital herpes recurring though not severe, but it's very irritating.
