I had a gastric emptying test and had severe headache which sent me to the emergency room (ER) after 11 hours. Nothing helped and my headache continued for a total of 21 hours when it gradually went away. I was given Benadryl, Tylenol, Reglan, magnesium, and some other IV medications.

I was surprised at the small amount of food I was given to ingest during the gastric emptying study; just one scrambled egg. I would have thought a realistic meal-sized portion would have yielded more information.
