It’s my third day after having the flu vaccination shot for the very first time on 2/27/21. I had no noticeable side effects until today. I had stomach cramps and very pale stool this morning. Stomach cramps subsided, till I started cleaning my house 30 minutes ago. I googled it and found this page of all you experiencing my same symptoms.

I am posting my dad’s experience. In October 2020 his work was giving free flu vaccination shots, so he decided to get one. This was his first ever, and will be his last. Within an hour of getting the shot at work he thought he was going to have to go home; horrible chills, fever and sore neck. Next day, he still felt awful, along with a stiff neck that lasted for days. February 2021, he still doesn’t feel right. Wish I could help him feel normal again.

I was fine on the day of my flu vaccination jab but the next day I was shivering and then sweating later in the evening. I felt ill for the next 2 days and started with stomach cramps and diarrhea at the end of day 3.

I had the senior Fluad flu vaccination shot and was very sick for almost 6 weeks with gastronomical problems. No temperature or diarrhea but really bad chills, headache and burning ulcer like stomach problems. Went to the doctor over and over, and had the scope test and ultra sound, no results there. Lost weight, down to 110 lb. I am on Protonix now and no more flu shots for me!

I had my first (and last) flu vaccination jab 3 days ago and have had diarrhea for the last 2 days. It surely can't be right that all these people here have upset stomach issues and they all coincidentally happened after their flu jabs, that's just ridiculous. The jab is to blame, and it needs to be investigated. At the moment, the medical profession seems to be addressing the issue by putting their fingers in their ears and going 'la, la, la la!'

I have never had a reaction like this. I got my flu vaccination on 2/2/21 and I might as well have gotten the full flu. By 2/5 I had extreme vertigo, and at night nausea and diarrhea. The next day, I feel awful; sore all over, headaches, nausea, the works. I also have prior gastrointestinal (GI) issues and I am now experiencing a flare up that can’t be related to anything else. Not COVID (already had it 11/27 and I just got tested again for an unrelated procedure). This flu shot is different than before.

This is the first time I've had a flu vaccination jab and it's going to be my last. I have fibromyalgia and always get flu, but I'd rather put up with flu than this. My upper arm is really swollen and still very sore. My lower legs and ankles are swollen. I am still feeling nausea after 3 days.

My Husband had his very 1st flu vaccination jab on 25 January, 2021. Within an hour, he felt sick, aching all over, chills, and horrendous stomach cramps which he is still having. He is on the 4th day now and can’t get off the sofa. The stomach cramps are not getting any better. Making him question if he should have COVID-19 jab as this is awful.

I have my flu vaccination every year due to being asthmatic. I had mine 3 days ago and today I've been so unwell. Severe stomach pains, trips to the bathroom every half hour, loss of appetite, nausea, full body aches and a bad headache. The stomach pains have been so awful I've been curled up on the sofa all day trying to sleep so I don't have to be awake feeling them. Never had symptoms like this after my flu jab, but this has been horrendous.

I normally don't get flu vaccination shots, ever! They made me sick the first time I got one when I was younger, so I never did it again, until I let a doctor talk me into it in 2019 around early December and I got a flu shot. I've had diarrhea ever since. It's awful. It started right after the injection and never went away.

I was perfect yesterday until they gave the flu vaccination to me around midday. I had heavy headache all night but not fever. I was a little dizzy and tired, and I woke up today with terrible diarrhea that won’t go off. I can’t get out of the bathroom. It’s coming back every 15-20 minutes. This never happened to me with the previous flu shots. For sure something is wrong with this flu vaccine.

I’m an 82 year old female with arthritis, and I received my flu vaccination shot on 1/6. Within 6 hours I had extreme pain in the arm I had the shot in. I couldn’t sleep that night. The next day that pain seemed to travel to my legs, the next day after that was my knees. It sends this sharp throbbing pain that is traveling in my body. Now this pain is on the side of my face and back of my head. What are they putting in this! It’s awful. I wonder if the people that put this together actually take it themselves.

I received the flu vaccination shot on the morning of 1-08-21. No relevant allergies. I was fine before the vaccination. By 3 pm that afternoon I was incredibly nauseated and felt like I was going to faint. I went home, took some Zofran for the nausea and lay down. I woke up almost 24 hours later. I’ve been in bed for 3 days now. Aching all over, severe stomach pain and nausea. No fever. I don’t think I’ll take it again next year.

I received my first ever flu vaccination jab on 11/30/20. No known allergies, but I do have a couple of gastrointestinal (GI) issues (eosinophilic esophagitis and, in the past, some episodes of irritable bowel syndrome [IBS]). All had been good on the GI front for me for a year or two though, until about 36 hours after the flu jab. The initial episode of gas and bloating was so bad, I thought I would pass out from the pain in my upper abdomen. While not as intense, I am still experiencing unusual gas, bloating, and acid reflux over a month later.

I had my flu vaccination jab at the end of November. Three days after that I started having problems with my gut. I feel constantly bloated. It is a month since then and it is not improving. I have never ever had such problems before this. I am a perfectly healthy individual with no allergies. I have a flu jab every season and never had side effects in the past. I am starting to think that the flu jab this season was messed up somehow.

I got my first flu vaccination shot ever on November 17, 2020 and am still experiencing rounds of diarrhea, bloating, gas, fatigue, trouble with focus and concentration. Doctor is checking liver enzymes. The trouble began like a tsunami on the third day after the shot.

I just had my first flu vaccination shot on 12/18/2020. I had a headache and felt achy the next day but slept it off the following day. Now I feel hungry constantly, I can eat a meal and get full, then my stomach starts growling like I haven't eaten at all. I wonder if this has ever happened to anyone else.

I had my first ever flu vaccination jab 10 days ago and from 2 days after, I have suffered with extreme tiredness, stomach aches and heartburn, all of which are totally out of character for me. I take warfarin and sertraline which are both well stabilized but I have had a return of depressive symptoms. Symptoms are still with me but I am starting to feel slightly better. Not sure if I would have this jab next year.

I had my first flu vaccination jab on 15/12/20. The needle going in didn't hurt but it bled and was painful straight after. I have lost my appetite and feel nauseous as soon as I eat. My stomach is bloated and a I have a lot of gas if I eat anything. My body aches and I have had pain in my lower back and bowel. I was going to go for COVID-19 test as I feel this way, but reading this site, I am now concerned if something was wrong with this vaccine.

I got my flu vaccination shot on December 15, 2020 and a few hours after the shot, I started having abdominal cramps, watery flatulence with mucus and mucus diarrhea. This is the first time I have experienced this. It is so bad that I have had a few 'accidents'. Luckily I have time off work for the next few weeks. If I had to work, I wouldn't be able to. I constantly have to run to the bathroom every time I feel like I might pass gas, otherwise I'll have an accident. I have not seen this listed as a possible side effect.

Today is 12/13/20, I have severe gas pains, diarrhea and bloat for the past 2 days. I had the Flublok flu vaccination injection on 12/10. If this lasts less than a week it’s worth not getting the flu. I am drinking peppermint tea.

I had my flu vaccination for the first time on Saturday, 12th December, 2020. I had a clammy feeling at first as if I had a slight temperature and then my belly started feeling very achy. I have felt very tired, lethargic and a bit cloudy in my head. I suffer from depression and have been feeling worse over the last few days. I have bad stomach cramps, flatulence and go from constipation to diarrhea. I did feel a bit nauseous on the first day but this has subsided. I have sneezed occasionally.

On November 5, 2020 I got the flu vaccination shot. I have always got the shot and never had any problems, but this time I did. Two days after receiving the shot I woke at 1 am, feeling so sick, my back was numb, and I was very nauseous and felt like death. It’s been a little over 5 weeks and I’m having the worst stomach cramps, can barely eat without feeling like my stomach is going to blow up, I can barely pass stools. I’m waiting to have an appointment for a CT scan to see what’s going on. I’m really hoping this will pass.

Comment from: WendyBerenice, 65-74 Female (Patient) Published: December 11

I had the flu vaccination 7 weeks ago. Ever since I have had severe stomach pains, bloating, gurgling in my stomach and severe, uncontrollable diarrhea. I have now been referred for a CT bowel scan. I can only eat very bland food, porridge etc., any 'normal' food sets off a recurrence of the diarrhea. My doctor, of course, denies any involvement of the vaccine!

Never again! I had the flu vaccination jab on 3rd December, and it is now the 5th December, 2020. I have always had flu jab with no problems but this year, ouch, I’ve got constant stomach cramps, diarrhea with mucus in it. I have also got nausea and runny nose. I really think they have put something different in this year. I'm glad I’ve found this group so I know I'm not the only one.

I got the flu vaccination jab for the first time this year and it’s made me ill. I got it day before yesterday and I’ve had stomach problems for the past 2 nights after it. I’m quite scared it won’t stop after what I’ve heard from people.

I got my flu vaccination shot on 11/22/20 which was a Saturday. Throughout the week I felt body aches coming on, and slight chest pain. Then the next Saturday I had body aches and was extremely nauseous. I had to call out of work that Monday. Got a rapid COVID test and it was negative. Then I went to work on Tuesday still not feeling 100 percent. That night I developed shortness of breath and more chest pain and back aches. I feel bloated, burping and just feeling like I’m in a complete fog, have headache and lightheadedness that keeps coming in waves.

I am glad I found this website as I have been experiencing so many of the same symptoms that are expressed in many of the comments and kind of relieved to know what I have been experiencing must be related to the flu vaccination shot I got about 10 days ago. Mostly I am experiencing bowel pain, nausea, and at times headache-ish. I have to urinate often at night and bladder seems to be painful.

I had my flu vaccination jab last Thursday, 26th, and felt fine until 2am. Friday morning I woke with a high temperature, managed to get back to sleep an hour later, and woke feeling washed out. Then yesterday, Sunday, I had a really bad upset stomach. I did feel a little bit sick previously, but am eating ok, but still feel washed out five days later. I am not sure if I will go for it next year, but really concerned about the COVID vaccine.

Comment from: Laura, 55-64 Female (Patient) Published: December 01

Every year after receiving the flu vaccination shot, I am blessed with constant gas, bloating and major stomach upset. I can hardly eat things like dried fruit, etc., as you will repel people around you. This can get so bad that I have to go on the BRAT diet to get it all under control. I complained to my doctor but she said I have to have it because I have mild to medium asthma. Found out the older you get they increase the dose of your shot. I now ask for a much lesser dose to survive the 2 months of torture.

I received the flu vaccination shot on 10/8 and on 10/10 I started having gastroenteritis symptoms, as well as tachycardia and shortness of breath. I had severe pain in my upper abdomen, nausea and diarrhea. COVID was ruled out, but doctors have no explanation. Symptoms lasted for almost two months.

I am 75 years old and had the flu vaccination jab. This was a type for the elderly and it was on the Wednesday last week. On Sunday morning I could not function. I had extreme vertigo when moving my head, balance problems when walking, and nausea feeling all day. I also had shaking limbs and was slightly warm. It is now Thursday and I am only feeling myself today. Never again.

I had my flu vaccination jab last year to protect myself as I got a chronic illness and my life hasn’t been the same since. I have got pain in my upper back and chest, shortness of breath, cough and general weakness. Everything appeared after the flu jab. Now I am investigating my situation but am on hold because the NHS is busy with the pandemic. I am very worried.

I got my quadrivalent flu vaccination last Thursday, and by Sunday I couldn't even walk. I thought I had COVID. My result came back negative, but my company put me on COVID pay to stay home. My armpits ached (lymph node overload), and I was driving and got so dizzy I had to call my family to come get me. I found taking the omega 3 supplement X3 helped more than anything. It felt like my brain was inflamed, quite frankly. I carefully documented what happened to me every day and will not get another flu shot.

I'm a 58-year-old who has just had the flu vaccination jab at 10.20 today, 21/11. I am presenting extremely painful stomach cramps and diarrhea with some nausea too. It feels like gastroenteritis. I work in a care home. So thought I was doing my bit. After finding this page of complaints of very much the same as me, I won’t be doing that again. But I am now concerned as we have to have the COVID-19 vaccine as we are 1st on the list.

I had the flu vaccination on the 21st, so 2 full days ago. About 10 minutes after the jab I went extremely hot, dizzy and felt sick. Sleepiness took over and I went to bed. In the morning I could not move. My arm was very swollen. Now, I am on day two, and my sometimes have eased but my arm is now swollen and black.

I had my flu vaccine on 12/11. I had severe diarrhea and cramps 24 hours later with the feeling I was going to pass out, and nausea. Today, 17/11, is the first day without severe diarrhea, and the cramps are less. I won’t have the vaccine again!

So glad I found this page a day after the flu vaccination jab. I felt really ill. It only lasted 2 days then felt better; or so I thought. I now have loose stools, I have to run to the loo, and I am also very tired all the time. Next year I certainly won’t be having it.

I received the high dose flu vaccination shot Fluzone over two weeks ago and have had severe stomach pains, bloating and pain in my liver, ever since. I keep hoping it will go away but will report this to my doctor and try to get into gastroenterologist soon. This is causing me great distress. This new high dose flu shot is new this year, so it is important to report these reactions to the FDA.

Comment from: Never Again!, 55-64 Female (Patient) Published: November 17

I have never had the flu. I have only had the flu vaccination twice; once in 2018 and again in 2019, because my husband's employer insisted. Both times, within 2 hours of getting the shot, I developed burning hot, explosive diarrhea along with uncontrollable vomiting. I spent the next four days sitting on the toilet clutching a bucket. Also, my arm was black and blue and I couldn't move it for 10 days. Upside, I lost 15 pounds both times. I will never get a flu shot again.

Comment from: Colin, 65-74 Male (Patient) Published: November 13

As a former nurse, I have always had my doubts regarding flu vaccinations. My first relates to the swine flu jab back in 2009, after which I was ill for nearly a year. I then stopped having jabs until 2017. It was in 2018 that I had a reaction once again to the flu jab and had breathing problems, weakness, and headaches for 3 months. Doctors rejected the flu jab as the cause. I missed the 2019 jab, but am having another reaction to the 2020 jab, with similar symptoms.

I had my flu vaccination shot on November 3rd. Less than a day after the shot I started having stomach pain similar to food poisoning, and nausea. This was my first and last vaccine. I also had pain in my left arm and leg, and a slight headache. Looks like this year's vaccines have affected most people with severe stomach pain.

I had my senior flu vaccination shot on 9/23 and started having diarrhea, bloating and cramps several days after. It is now 11/6 and I am still finding myself with these issues. I called my doctor to discuss, changed my diet to BRAT, and had no definitive results. I was fine before this shot. I had flu shot in previous years with no issues such as this. I know my issues stem from this vaccine... never again!

Oh my goodness, I thought it was just me! I just got my first flu vaccination shot about 5 pm yesterday. About an hour or so later I started having stomach cramps and going to the bathroom! Pepto-Bismol didn't seem to help. I'm now on day two and the stomach discomfort is there and I'm still running to the toilet! My stomach feels bloated. I'm attributing it to the flu shot because I was not experiencing any of this until after I got it.

I got my flu vaccination shot on 10/26. I felt fine until Friday morning, then diarrhea and cold chills (off and on) started. I also had a headache for the first 2-3 days, and Tylenol didn’t help. No fever, and no stomach pain. I feel fine during the day, then the diarrhea starts back up towards the evening. I had a video doctor visit on Monday, told to take Imodium, probiotics and get a COVID test. I tested that afternoon, and still waiting for results. I will never get the vaccine again and neither will my family.

I had the flu vaccination jab this morning and within an hour was in the toilet. It has now been 3-4 days with diarrhea, no stomach pain though. I feel sure it has to have been the jab that caused it. Hopefully it won't last long. It was quite a comfort to hear about other people suffering the same kind of thing as everywhere else I looked it was saying it wasn't possible that the flu jab could cause these symptoms.

I had the flu vaccination shot on October 28th. I am a healthy 66 year old, I’ve never had a problem with past flu shots. The next day my arm was so sore I couldn’t lift it to my head. I started getting chills, I had lightheadedness, extreme fatigue and no appetite, I developed a fever of 102, and every bone in my body ached. This lasted for 3 days, my arm hurts and I have a red stripe with raised bumps where I had the jab.

I am a 77 year old female in generally good health. I had the non-strong flu shot for seniors on a Monday morning. By that evening my stomach started to cramp but I could tolerate it. The following day I had severe stomach cramping and nausea, and these symptoms continued for the next three days with waves of severe cramping, nausea and strong flatulence and burping. Over the course of seven days I had a lessening of cramps but am weakened from lack of being able to eat.

Like many others here, I just had a sore swollen arm at first after having the stronger flu vaccination jab for seniors 2 days ago. I’m a 66 year old female. However, I have had really bad stomach cramps and have been in and out of the toilet most of the day today. No diarrhea, but wind and real pain. I seem to be having trouble with my bladder too… pain like cystitis. I’ve not had any stomach problems with flu jabs before, been having them for years as I’m a caregiver for my disabled son. The pain is really bad.

Yes, I had waves of nausea, sluggish feeling, brain fog, headaches, muscle pain, joint pain, pins and needles in my lower legs and feet. I have been getting flu vaccination for 15 years but the last 2 years I’ve had terrible side effects. I think I’ll pass on it next year and take my chances. I have fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s and gastrointestinal issues so I’m sensitive to some medications. Guess I have to add the flu vaccine to that list.

I had my flu vaccination jab a week ago, which has made my irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) worse. I have gurgling noises, excessive gas and pain. Today it has upset my bronchiectasis causing me to cough up blood, which means I have a chest infection. I started antibiotics. I feel really fed up.

I am 47. I had the flu vaccination yesterday morning, 20/10/20. I had initial sore arm. Nothing else all day. The next day tiredness set in and around 5 am, diarrhea started with stomach cramps.

My last flu vaccination shot was in Oct 2019. In 5 minutes I started to feel dizzy and nauseous. I got home, went to bed and slept. I woke and could hardly move... aches, fatigue and heavy breathing. After a week I saw the doctor who told me to take Benadryl. It helped the breathing but I dragged myself around till it gradually went away. This was my 3rd attempt having flu shot and I was sick each time, with the last one the worst. Never again! I'm a 75 year old woman and afraid I won't be able to get COVID vaccine.

In a little over 24 hours after flu vaccination I have also experienced lower abdominal pain, quite extremely too. I woke last night around 1:30 a.m. to the ache but also had to urinate. The pain increased while I evacuated my bladder, then a sudden severe pain, heat and lightheadedness; I thought I might pass out. But as sudden as it came on, it started to fade. I sat down and waited for it to subside enough where I thought, ok, I can walk back to the bedroom, lie down and monitor myself for a few minutes.

I got my senior (67 year old) flu shot (quadrivalent), on October 17, 2020 at 9:20 a.m. All went well until 7:00 p.m. the same evening, then the intermittent diarrhea started and continued through the night. It's the morning of October 18 and intermittent diarrhea is still present. No other symptoms at this time but now I am wondering, since I got one vaccine side-effect, whether next year I should bypass the senior one and take my chances with the regular flu shot where I only had soreness in my arm.

I am a 63 year old woman, and received my flu vaccination shot on the morning of 10/12. I had slight soreness in my arm muscle that day. By the next evening I had a temperature of 100.5 F, red rash below injection site, stomach cramping, nausea, diarrhea, sweating and chills, and dizziness. The temperature dropped the next day to 99.8 F with continuation of other symptoms.

My 89 year old dad had the flu vaccination shot last Saturday and yesterday (5 days later) he woke up with a tight chest. His general physician has put him on antibiotics so hopefully he will be okay.

I had the flu vaccination last Thursday and have severe pain all over my joints, pins and needles, extreme tiredness and irritability. I have rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. I feel dreadful. Feels like the worst flare up I’ve had in 10 years.

I had the high-dose flu vaccination shot in August 2020. In September I noticed a loss of sense of taste which I still have, some 45 days later. I was warned that this was a possible side effect but cannot find it in print.

I had the senior flu vaccination shot on 9/29. Forty hours after the shot, I woke up at 5 a.m. with dizziness and nausea, and then was throwing up. I had headache for the rest of the day. Now, a week and a half later, I feel slightly dizzy most of everyday with a headache that comes and goes. Wonder if the flu shot could have side effects that last this long. I felt fine prior to getting the shot. I have never had a side effect from the flu shot before.

This is an update. I had bad gas pains after getting the flu vaccine, and now I've been diagnosed with shingles. I do not know if there is a connection, but I know the bad abdominal pain preceded it.

I’m 68 and I had my flu vaccination jab on the 9/19/20. I had a bruised arm which I expected, and 4 days later I had aches to the back and front of my legs which lasted about 4 days. Then I started to get sore to the touch skin on both sides of my flank, I still have this, and have had it 8 days now. For the last three days I have a pain in each side inside my body, and bloating, but not much wind. I feel like rubbish.

I'm female, 66. I had 2020 flu vaccination jab a week ago. I generally felt OK and no problems at the site of the jab, just mild nausea during the first hour after the jab. About 3 hours after the injection, I had stabbing bowel pain (left side) which felt like trapped wind or diverticular pain. No relief from passing wind as there was no wind to pass, just the pain. It finally seemed to stop but then came back twice over the next 24 hours, a bit weaker each time. I have felt fine since. My partner (male 71) has had no symptoms at all.

I am 63 years old and had the flu vaccination jab on the 3rd of October. I am now suffering with indigestion and a pain below my right armpit where my bra goes around. I didn't have this until I got the jab. I have irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) which doesn't help.

I am 58 years old and have fibromyalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome (RSD), asthma, migraines, etc. I got my flu vaccination jab this Tuesday, 9/29. Today is Friday, 10/2, and I feel really lousy, have a bad sore throat, body aches and severe fatigue, above and beyond what I always have. I have a low grade fever of 99.7. I am very sorry that I got the flu shot. The last time I got the jab was 2018-19 season due to my husband's health. He got his jab in the hospital. We both got ill with severe flu. Dumb of me to get this jab.

I received my flu vaccination shot 9/29/20 around 4:40 PM. Fast forward a few hours into the night and I can’t sleep, my arm is super sore where the shot was given, and my anxiety is through the roof for no reason. I actually went home from work early on 9/30/20 because of how awful I was feeling. I am exhausted, dizzy and nauseous, with a wicked headache and sinus pressure. Today it’s 10/1/20 and I stayed home again, but thankfully my symptoms have lessened.

My side effect of flu vaccination are hoarse voice, tightness of throat reducing the airway, tiredness, itchiness of scalp ears, eyes and nose, and aching joints, mainly the shoulders and arms. I am lethargic, irritable and fed up. Apart from all this and my other problems, I am just pleased to be here watching people go by wearing masks.
