I struggled with fish odor syndrome through high school and college. It would come and go at different periods for no reasons. Alcohol exasperated the symptoms significantly. I'm now 27 and haven't had an issue in years. I have stayed away from dairy products, no longer take a protein shake at gym and every day I take a probiotic and B2 vitamin (riboflavin). Haven't had anyone mention any fishy odors in over 2 plus years now. I did ask a few close friends to alert me if they noticed it anymore and they have not. Best of luck.

I am healthy, work out and try to avoid choline rich foods. Copper chlorophyllin doesn't help fish odor syndrome. I recently started taking enzymes, zinc, and probiotics, with no positive results. I take Deodorex, which cuts down my sweat a lot. I've had this for at least ten years and am tired of living with this. Since I live in Lubbock, no testing exists in my area. I'm at such a loss at what to do to control this.

I was diagnosed with TMAU (trimethylaminuria) or fish odor syndrome about 15 years ago. Giving it a name made it a little easier. Medicine of any kind for depression or any amines made my condition 10 times worse. I have accepted my condition and I am strong, I am not afraid.
