What was the treatment for your bowel incontinence? Submit Your Comment
They ran several tests but told me I will just have to live with bowel incontinence. They did every test possible I believe. I just drink magnesium citrate every other day for life.
I did not have bowel incontinence until I had rectocele surgery. All my babies weighed close to 9 lb. or over. My rectum would protrude through my vagina. The doctor decided surgery would fix that, well, it did but apparently when he sewed me up he damaged my rectum and sphincter muscle, which I cannot prove and he did not admit. So after trying the exercises and the internal device I had injections that cost an astronomical amount of money that I am still paying for after 3 years. The injections lasted about 2 weeks. I am 65 years old at this time and this started 10 years ago, At this time I can no longer feel my anus, I cannot feel when a bowel movement occurs, or control it. It hinders my social life. I wear pads and change my underwear anywhere from 4 to 8 times a day.
