I went in for an upper endoscopy this morning and did it under sedation. I was really nervous because this was the first time I'd ever had this procedure and it was honestly the easiest thing ever. I didn't have any idea what was going on and didn't feel a thing. The last thing I remember was turning onto my left side, then after that waking up in the recovery room. The only irritating part is the mild sore throat I have now, which they say is really common. All in all, no big deal!

I was completely sedated during endoscopy, meaning I don't remember a thing but the doctor and nurses joking while preparing me. I was only given a gown to cover my top area. I was still wearing jeans. When I awoke in recovery, I discovered I was completely saturated in urine. I heard another patient saying the same thing, they'd urinated. I had to ask a nurse for some scrubs and plastic bag to throw my jeans in. Why would a doctor allow his colleague in training to perform the procedure and let this happen!
