Cryptosporidiosis came on as cramping for the first week with some nausea and vomiting. Looked typically menstrual; after x-ray and ultrasound, the doctor thought just that. Only on day 12 did runs .start. She had no fever at all, and weakness etc., only after prolonged calorie/liquid deficit. First lab tests came up negative for usual suspects. I asked for Giardia test and this came up in second lab tests. The worst of it was dehydration. Drinking or eating made cramps more painful. She received 1 bag IV and is rehydrating with coconut water; taking Triphala to support gut flora; and mild foods in small portions. Kids bounce back fast.
