My cosmetic allergic reaction was after using Bare Minerals powder foundation. Immediately while washing it off my face started burning. For the next 24 hours it was red as a beet and hot to the touch. Even plain water would burn. The next day the redness lessened a little. But then began the next phase, dryness all over and flaking.

My upper eyelids start to itch and burn and then swell and turn bright red from cosmetic allergy. This is always followed by days or weeks of eyelid eczema. I still have not found out what is the offending product, as I have to wait a month to get in with an allergist.

I seem to have a reaction to everything. I get breakout-like bumps that take forever to go away. I am allergic to nickel and laundry detergents. I am using chemical-free makeup and that seems to be helping. But I still have a reaction around my hairline and scalp. I have a hard time finding hair products. I think glycols could be my problem, but I would really like to have the blood test to verify if it is in fact an allergy.
