What they don't tell about stenting is the fact that because of the piece of metal in your artery you will always be having a re-clogging issue. That is because the artery will send plaque to heal where the stent is and plaque buildup will occur. Also, the DAPT (dual antiplatelet therapy) causes side effects which are dangerous especially as you age. So in fact stenting causes the very issue why you had probably had a heart attack. However, stenting and DAPT are big sources of revenue for the medical community.

My husband went for an angioplasty followed by heart attack on 29th Feb 2012. He had two blocks. Both the blocks were removed after a gap of 4 days. Again on 7th April 2014 he had a heart attack. He had two blocks again in different places. In between he had jaundice. Antibiotics are given for that. They did angioplasty again. How can it occur again so soon! I wonder if bypass open heart surgery is better than angioplasty.
