I was diagnosed with colitis in the emergency room based on my symptoms (intense abdominal pain in the lower right, diarrhea, and nausea), blood tests, and an ultrasound to rule out my ovaries or appendix.
My colitis was diagnosed after a colonoscopy.
My colitis was diagnosed via colonoscopy and biopsy.
I had numerous trips to the emergency room with pain in stomach, dizziness, sweating, and weakness. They never diagnosed what was really wrong. Last time I had very severe, diarrhea, pain, dizziness, weakness, etc. After 9 days in hospital I was diagnosed with ischemic colitis. I was told I would have to have stent put in groin area eventually, they said it is like a heart attack in the groin. I am very ill. Now I am having pains in legs and back. I wonder if this could be from the colitis. It is scary, I am always afraid I will not wake up in the morning.
I had a colonoscopy, and the doctor took a biopsy. The diagnosis was microscopic colitis.
Twelve years ago I had 12" of colon removed because of diverticulitis. Now I have had diarrhea for 3 months. I had colonoscopy and endoscopy by gastrointestinal doctor. He put me on Lialda ($45.00} and Imodium; no help yet. He took me off Lialda temporarily. I am now on Entocort (3 ea. a.m.). They are samples. I cannot afford to fill another prescription. Hope it works for now. If not, I will go back on Lialda. He took me off omeprazole which I took for atrial fibrillation. He said it could cause diarrhea. I also went off pramipexole for restless legs, for same reason. I am 83 and have mild Parkinson"s for 9 years.
My colitis was diagnosed with colonoscopy, endoscopy and biopsy of tissue.
