I'm 57 and was just recently diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. I was told I had a heart attack at some time. All of this just floored me because I'm (I thought) in good shape especially for my age. I'm going back to the doctor next week to find out my road to treatment.

The doctor Suggested that it is because: (1) about a decade back I was attacked by a disease named GB (Guillain Barre) syndrome. During that time the infection had very much affected my lungs for a long time and hence it is now because of the same reason the muscles of the LV (left ventricle) portion of the heart is weak. (2) I am also suffering from a hereditary disease like hypothyroidism since a long time, hence also it is experienced.

Recently my uncle past away due to dilated cardiomyopathy. He just complained in the morning that he felt tired. We went to the hospital but after first checkup, the doctor referred us to a specialist but with maximum treatment for cardiac emergency, he went critical and just within 6 hours he was no more.
