All of a sudden it seems I got 3 canker sores in my gums. I always put lemon slices in my water bottle and take ibuprofen fairly often. I’ve been rinsing with hydrogen peroxide last 2 nights with not much relief so far. My friend suggested putting salt directly on the sores, which actually helped, though temporarily. I have been stressed at work, which may be a cause as well. I started taking vitamin B-12 this morning… hope it works. I am having trouble eating, especially hot foods.

Since October, I have been having dental work done, and I have had a break-out of canker sores every time I visit the dentist. I'm having my third break-out within the last 3 months. This has never happened to me before. I have tried everything, but what helps most is warm salt water rinses, and Benadryl mixed with milk of magnesia. The worst pain is underneath the tongue, which is also the most difficult place to reach!

I have always had canker sores. They would last at least 7 to 10 days and were deep. I tried everything and nothing seemed to help. I found Smart Mouth mouthwash (use it morning and night) and I rarely have them anymore. When I do feel like I am getting one I gargle 3 to 5 times a day for a couple days and they clear up within 24 hours (they never fully develop). I use it every day.

I would get at least 1 canker sore a month that would last for 7 or 8 days. You probably know that first tingling that portends the nasty thing. About 6 months ago I read online about using alum so I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, it works. As soon as you feel that initial tingling, dab some alum on and it should be gone the next day. I apply the alum with a Q-tip several times on the tingly day. It hasn't failed yet. I'm over the moon that I don't have to suffer anymore!

My canker sores are strange. They typically occur in 2 places: under the tongue and inside the lower lip. I get a dozen of them at a time.

Biting my inner lip a lot leaves me with a very painful canker sore. I have been using a lot of different stuff but found washing my mouth with hydrogen peroxide is the fastest, cheapest and easiest way to get rid of them.

I'm a 52 year old male, and for most of my 20s and 30s I suffered through getting two dozen or more canker sores a year. Some were extremely painful. I found that brushing my teeth and rinsing with salt water helped the pain for a while. I rarely get the sores now, maybe one a year. I found that several things probably helped cause my outbreaks: 1. I used to drink orange juice several times a week. 2. I took a lot of aspirin. 3. I had a lot of stress at work. I now drink OJ maybe once a week, I take Motrin instead of aspirin, and I'm now at a different job.

I currently have 3 pea size canker sores on my tongue. They are yelow craters, kinda looks like a volcano with a large gaping hole in the middle. I also have 4 small white canker sores on the inside of my lip under my bottom teeth. My tongue is very swollen and I am in significant amount of pain. This is horrific! My tongue also has some deep open lines with red dots all around. My throat is sore and it is difficult to swallow.

About my canker sore. I get a recurring throbbing sore spot on the edge of the gum line next to one of my wisdom teeth whenever I eat and chew on certain raw vegetables and nuts, especially raw carrots, raw broccoli, raw garlic, soaked raw almonds, and raw basil.

When I first got the canker sore, I didn’t put much emphasis on it as I thought that I injured my gums while eating. After hurting me for two days, I went to a mirror and there at the extreme end of my lower jaw was a sore that was whitish in color. I visited your site and you helped me with treatment.
