Anal pain, pain in and around your anus or rectum (perianal region), from hemorrhoid can be severe because of the many nerve endings in the perianal region. My doctor prescribed hydrocodone after my hemorrhoidectomy and it did nothing to relieve my pain. I called my doctor and begged him to give me something stronger but he insisted that a hemorrhoidectomy was painful and that I would just have to suck it up.
