I had a miscarriage at 4 months. I had been treated with metronidazole gel for bacterial vaginosis (BV). If you have had BV during your pregnancy, please urge the provider to recheck afterwards and again when you think any symptoms reoccur or if new symptoms become existent.

I have reoccurring bacterial vaginosis (BV), as well as does my mother. So I think it is genetic maybe. Anyway, my obstetrician/gynecologist explained it to me like 'your vagina is a self-cleaning oven always on high’, it's nothing I'm doing or not doing and there's nothing I can do to prevent it. It does not mean you are dirty! Some tips to keep your pH in check - no soap near the vaginal opening, hot water only. Summers Eve is a joke, don't bother. It will make it worse. Take antibiotics as soon as possible.

I don’t have an odor or burning with bacterial vaginosis, just bleeding during sex. It’s so embarrassing and makes me not want to have sex. I don’t have and STIs (sexually transmitted infections) either but I continue to bleed during sex.

I have been experience this bacterial vaginosis (BV) for more than 10 years now, and am now 24 years old. Even when I stick to one man since some years back. It is just a normal discharge that stains my pant, but since 2 years now I have been experiencing watery and smelly discharge. I have taken a lot of antibiotics. I went to my doctor for a test. They prescribed some drugs for me, but still it keeps coming back. I fell so ashamed when am making love with my partner, perceiving the smell. We have tried our best but still no change.

I have been dealing with bacterial vaginosis for 7 years after I had a hysterectomy. It just keeps coming back for so many years. I am just tired of going to the doctor so many times. They give the medicine every time but it works for about a year and comes right on back.

I have been dealing with bacterial vaginosis for months. I started getting spotting after sex, then developed a yellow string-like discharge. I haven’t really had much of a smell except after sex, which is embarrassing. Metro pills didn’t work for me and I just finished the gel. My symptoms are slightly better, fingers crossed.

I am not sexually active, have been sick off and on for some time now with stomach virus, thyroid disorder (Graves’), always seem to get sick of something since diagnosed a few years ago. I continuously get bacterial vaginosis and really don't know why. I eat healthy, take probiotics, and vitamins like I thought I should.

I've had bacterial vaginosis for as long as I can remember, I was on the Depo shot when my symptoms started. I was always prescribed Flagyl which helps for a while. A lot of people have a problem taking them, I suggest taking them with milk after a meal. This may sound weird, but I use them like a suppository, because they dissolve quickly. It works for me, the symptoms are gone and smell is gone. But only temporary, it seem that nothing keeps it away forever.

I recently started to have this fish-smelling discharge, was not thick and mucus as it used to be and the odor got worst when it’s hot. The discharge is very thin and has some white small balls. Bacterial vaginosis is really embarrassing.

I am a mother of 3, repeat C-sections plus tied tubes. I noticed a fishy smell that was really embarrassing when my partner and I had sex. I tried yogurt inserts, eating Greek yogurt daily. Yogurt douches, probiotic tabs and nothing seem to work. I also experience lower abdominal pain and lite discharge. My doc only gives me Flagyl and cream.

I have bacterial vaginosis and am still on meds. It’s been almost a year. Without the meds I don’t think I would leave my house. I didn’t have a smell – I had pain and the itch. It took four doctors to really find out what I had. I got mine from douching way too much, and I never knew it could happen. But then again, I didn’t know it would just “clean itself” down there. If you think you have BV go to our OB/GYN ASAP, because with a yeast infection along with BV, it’s a really bad feeling. Stay on your meds – it helps. I’m a speed walker and love to be outdoors when it’s hot. But with BV outside…it’s not happening without the meds.

I have suffered from BV for the past seven years. I have an IUD and thought that was the problem. Recently, I have occurrences every 3 to 6 months. My main symptom is the foul fishy odor. This is so embarrassing; I don't want to be around people. I think I have got so immune to smelling it; I am at my breaking point.

I have had BV for as long as I can remember. Even as a virgin (then). It’s always been a problem. When it got worse was 4 months after my daughter was born, I got an IUD. It was significantly worse and consistently reoccurring. I will always try the natural way first. I was told that Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar helps to balance your pH level but every time I drink it and I almost immediately have a discharge. This is so ridiculous. I've tried diflucan, flagyl, monostat, candida eating herbs, anti candida diet (which is very hard for me). I am determined to find a cure for this for good. I refuse to live like this.
