My bacterial vaginosis started with one hard bump on my outer labia during the last days of my period and also a few days after finishing amoxicillin for a sinus infection. Day 2, I had a 2nd hard and painful bump on the same side, 3rd day I had bumps on the other side of my vagina. It burned when I urinated because the urine was irritating to my bumps. This is my 5th day, and I have blister like bumps on my inner labia. My partner cheated on me so I got tested for herpes because my buttock muscle hurt and I had other herpes-like symptoms.

I noticed the foul smell few months ago and got tested with Pap smear. The results showed that I had bacterial vaginosis (BV). My discharge is white and clear most of the time or light yellow sometimes. I don't have any other symptoms but having a smelly down is really embarrassing. The smell is not always present. I was given prescription and will start following my doctor’s advice today. Hoping for every lady that we all get well and healed from BV.

I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis (BV) today. I had noticed an odor when I was urinating, and it was very sulfuric and medicinal. It lasted for several weeks before I noticed pain with urination. I did not have odor or heavy or discolored discharge, and truly thought it was a UTI (urinary tract infection). I am allergic to metronidazole, so we are trying clindamycin first.

I am 34 years old and I was diagnosed last night with bacterial vaginosis. I experienced burning, itching, and a mild odor, I'm talking pain like I've never felt. I also got blister like things that hurt to wipe after urination. It hurt to sit at my desk at work. Overload of thin grey discharge that was constantly coming out. I at times thought I was urinating my pants. I could not have sex, it hurt and burned so bad. I start treatment today. I hope it works. It is painful!

I had sex and got bacterial vaginosis (BV) the first time in 5 years, and for the past week have experienced excruciating pain when urinating. I can’t sit down comfortably as it feels like my genitals have severe sunburn. Walking is hard too. Initially I got a 3 day course of antibiotics to treat a urinary tract infection but test results confirm BV. Just started a course of metronidazole. It is terrifying that many women have suffered with this for years and I am beginning to worry that this won’t cure the problem. May look into boric acid.

I found out your partner can re-infect with bacterial vaginosis you if you practice oral sex. Wash your underwear in 20 Mule Team Borax. Treat your sex partners. If you have it, they have it.

I never post but promised I’d share, if healed. My bacterial vaginosis was unresponsive to everything: routine prescriptions and natural remedies, and I suffered for 40 months; until I was finally prescribed secnidazole. You’re Welcome!

I experienced a bad smell like a fishy smell with my bacterial vaginosis. It was itchy and I had a discharge that was a white, yellow and brown color.

Comment from: Tudorrose, 35-44 Female (Patient) Published: December 03

I only had one symptom of bacterial vaginosis but it was enough. I had a foul odor and I couldn’t stand the smell. When I was out I couldn’t help thinking that others could smell what I could. It was absolutely horrible. Since having the treatment I’ve been unlucky enough to have it recur once up to now, I’m hoping that’s it as I don’t have any sexual partner at the minute.

I had bacterial vaginosis couple of times this year and went to the doctor. I now have it for the third time but treatments didn’t go well. I got spotting after I do worked out and pelvis pain, so again went to the doctor and she said to do Pap test. I wonder if it is only infection or something else. I don’t know but I am worried about positive and negative results of both.

This is the second time with bacterial vaginosis (BV). The first time a few years ago and with treatment after treatment it took a year and a half to get rid of it. I believe boric acid and Metro gel together for a month worked! Now I've had it for 6 months. I've been to the doctor 5 times! Boric acid didn't help this time and the Metro gel and prescription pill I've been on for months. I don’t know what to do! The irritation and smell have lingered for far too long. I haven't been intimate since the diagnosis in June.

Suddenly a few months back I had that fishy smell of bacterial vaginosis. And I thought it will go away after my period but it didn't stop. I always wash even after I urinate.

I’ve had bacterial vaginosis twice now and got the same symptoms; burning when urinating, foul odor, and a large amount of discharge. The discharge is thick, white/brown/yellow.

I recently got diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis after getting tested upon finding out husband had affair with 4 women. I was feeling intense pain during urination and even when I didn’t have to urinate, it was uncomfortable sitting or standing due to a burning sensation in my urethra. It only intensified when holding urine. After getting tested, I was told that it's not an STD but that you can get it from another female (not lesbian). It has been the worst experience of my life.

My bacterial vaginosis started after oral sex and washing afterwards with soap that I think got up in side while rinsing. My symptoms were extreme itching on the inside and a watery discharge that left me dripping. There really was no bad odor just the itch and drip that drove me crazy. I'm on metronidazole (Flagyl) so I hope this helps!

I had suffered from recurring bacterial vaginosis (BV) for over two years. I didn't know what to do, and no offense, but my primary care doctor and my obstetrician/gynecologist were of little help. So I did my own research. What finally worked was oral nitroimidazole 500 mg twice daily for 7 days, followed by intravaginal boric acid 600 mg every day and oral metronidazole every day for a month. It got rid of my recurrent BV. I still use intravaginal boric acid once a week to maintain my pH level and it's changed my life.

Bacterial vaginosis appeared suddenly before my last period and has been the most embarrassing experience. I have severe discharge that is medium grey, and smells like a dead fish. I have never had it before. I have had 8 babies and zip. I am on a new prescription and I believed it was changing my pH. Guess I was right. I will be seeing the doctor tomorrow, thank goodness.

I am 23 years old and suspect that I have had bacterial vaginosis (BV) for about 10 years. Since I was about 13 or 14, after I started my period, I have had fishy, foul smelling, yellowy discharge. It is very unpleasant and very smelly which would always make me feel embarrassed. I'm not sure how I developed it but since I was about 9 (before I started my period) I have always had regular white discharge. A couple of years after I started my period it would also periodically stink. Apart from a few days every cycle I always have discharge (a few days of which is smelly). I have now recently finally been diagnosed with BV and have taken appropriate antibiotics. Because of the medications I have now, however, developed a suspected yeast infection. I'm not sure how to keep my vaginal flora healthy.

I am 26 years old. I have had bacterial vaginosis (BV) for almost 2 years. When I first had symptoms, I thought it was a yeast infection. I never really get any discharge with the bacterial infection as you would in a yeast infection but my symptoms are burning and itching, bad! I started going to my obstetrician/gynecologist for this and he put me on treatment with Cervugid ovules (vaginal suppository). After two months of treatment with Cervugid ovules, I had medical tests again and BV went away. I was cured of the disease. I am very happy that I got rid of those awful itching and that horrible smell. Now I can start my life again.

I take a probiotic called Ultimate Flora for bacterial vaginosis. I use the yellow bottle with 15 Billion. That works for me!

Comment from: trac, 65-74 Female (Patient) Published: August 27

My bacterial vaginosis was caused by MRSA. I don't know how I got it. There was no bad smell, but I had extremely itchy vaginal boils that would eventually turn into open sores and produce more extremely itchy boils. This went on for over three weeks, until I could be examined, and cultures showed MRSA caused it. Then I got on medication to get rid of it.

I wanted to go ahead and give out information that I have learned over the years about bacterial vaginosis (BV). My pH sensitivity used to be a noticeable factor for me. I found that anything inserted into my vagina that was cleaned with anti-bacterial soap always caused BV and occasionally semen caused it and now I am also finding another culprit that contributes to BV. I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and hormones can also cause BV. I was taking estradiol for a year and when I stopped taking it BV showed up within 2 days. Now I am trying bio-identical HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and am noticing that soon after ovulation is when I am susceptible to getting it. Also make sure that no anal to vaginal sex occurs because that is obviously a very bad thing.

I am of 21 years of age. I just became sexually active with my fiancé, and ever since (for about a year) I have had battles with yeast infections! And now I was just diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. I've not noticed any smell, but there is lots of soreness in my vagina and clitoris. I do not smoke, keep off sweets, and he has never ejaculated inside me. My doctor said it is because I just became sexually active. But after lots of research, I'm going to be very careful on not to mix anal bacteria with vaginal bacteria. I'm more than excited to take this medicine and get rid of it! The pain is so horrible, and it depresses me not being able to make love to my fiancé. I have also used Summer’s Eve all my life. I'm trying out dove soap (my doctor advised against it; strange I've never had a problem before I became sexually active) and have been taking Pro-B vaginal targeted probiotic. I want to be on the prescription probiotic for that area though. I feel like it will be much more effective. Good luck to everyone, wish this just didn't happen.

I was diagnosed with BV (bacterial vaginosis) and I did not notice that I had a problem until the smell. I also had to keep my legs closed because the odor came through my pants. I also had a slight discharge but I thought that was normal. My doctor treated me for BV, but it came back. I found a homeopathic BV capsule at Walmart that has helped. The smell has gone away but I use the BV capsule daily in hopes that it goes away. I will try the Flagyl to see if it helps me.

I have had bacterial vaginosis for the last few months after I had coil removed and I bleed quite a lot. It is so annoying to have constant itch, discharge and an awful odor. I have been told to take Flagyl for this problem but I’m finding them hard to take. I take them after food but feel sick and dizzy.

I was stuck in the back of a cargo van sitting a stainless seat for 11 days traveling the country. This was back in March. I am still having pain in my tailbone. It is always there. Sometimes better some times worse. Just walking for about 20 minutes makes it hurt worse.

I was suffering with bacterial vaginosis (BV) pretty badly for months. Every time I took antibiotics it went away but then ended with thrush and then after my period the BV came back so I was on a monthly cycle. Anyway, after my doctor did some research she gave me this gel, I've not hear anyone speak about it on these threads of comments. It is called Zidoval (7.5mg/g). It is a bit like bioactive, you insert it every day for 10 days and then twice a week for 4 to 6 months. After 4 to 6 months I stopped using it and it has never been back since. For some reason doctors are only giving out metronidazole or some other antibiotic. Ask specifically for this gel! I hope this helps you, I know how depressed I was with the issue. Good luck.

Three days ago, my boyfriend and I had an intercourse and he found something smelly after we had it. I also wondered why, so I told him maybe it's my period because I’m already on my date. Then after that I washed and smelled myself, but I couldn't smell anything. We made love again for the next two days, same thing happened. It only occurs after sex and when I try to wash and try to smell there is nothing. I researched and I found this bacterial vaginosis (BV) thing. So I looked up for the symptoms. There is smell, but it is not itchy and abdominal pain or discharge is not so often. I have very light symptoms with this, but I don't know if it’s BV. I remember having this before, but that was years ago. Today, I have my period now, so let's see after this if it's still going to occur then I really need to see a doctor.

The symptoms were blood turning rusty to mustard color and abdominal pain while having intercourse. Post menopause, I also have proctitis, a colon infection. There is no odor with the bacterial vaginosis. Fibroid tumors in uterus were found in the emergency room.

I have been suffering with BV for over 10 years. At first I thought it was a STD, but I went to the dr and she diagnosed me with BV. My symptoms were terrible. At first I had a terrible discharge, and the odor was horrible. I remember taking a bath and washing with soap and it made the smell worse. I can deal with all the other symptoms such as soreness, irritability in the clitoris, but the smell is by far the most embarrassing. I could literally smell it through my pants. No woman should have to go through this. It has caused me to have low self-esteem. What I have found that works best is the dr gave me an antibiotic to take after intercourse. I have found that when my husband ejaculates in me the next day I start having the symptoms. So he and I stay away from doing that, and we both wash before and after sex. It is important to keep dry so that the ph doesn't change dramatically. Flagyl is the only medicine that clears my BV up, but it almost always re-occurs later on. Some women are allergic to semen and it messes up our ph levels. I hope this helps someone out there suffering with the same horrible condition as me.

I have had these horrible symptoms for 17 days now. It started with and awful vaginal itch, swelling, burning and a slight odor. My doctor diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis (BV) and a yeast infection. I swear that this has to be the most awful thing a woman has to go through. My husband is really understanding and helps me out, but sometimes it gets so bad that I wish I could rip my vagina off. I am currently on Diflucan.

Recently, I was diagnosed with this condition and was told that it came from my frequent bleeding associated with my IUD(hormone induced). My initial symptoms were constant discharge and more recently I noticed a horrific odor. OMG! Could smell my self at work through my panties, having to sit with my legs closed tightly is depressing....so, my GYN told me to use Flagyl twice a day for ten days and to use a douche (something I have never used) to assist with killing the bacteria. She stated that bacteria loves blood and this was the cause of my new diagnosis. Nice to read the other stories and I do believe that oral sex has some effect on it also. I hadn't given thought to the semen possibilities but who knows. Anything is possible. Just started my prescription and hope that it works.

My doctor says its normal women get it and don't even know. And that it cures itself and reoccurs. The doctor says it’s the flora in the intestine. It’s low. Take probiotics to build it up. Hope that helped.

I am 27 and have had BV off and on for about 7 years. I've gone over a year maybe 2 without having it and suddenly it came back with vengeance. Within the last year I've had it at least 4 times. I do eat a lot of sweets but I would say my stress level is normal. I lost my dad about a year ago but even before all of this I struggled with BV. I've been on Metronidazole, Flagyl and Cleocin. The doctors don’t really seem to have an answer. I was told to try a pH balancer to help balance my vaginal bacteria. I only use Ivory soap, I rarely wear thongs. One thing that I do think may trigger it or cause the imbalance to start is oral sex and if your partner slips to your anal region and re-enters his penis/tongue in the vagina, unfortunately some women are more sensitive than others. I for one have never had an STD nor a yeast infection so it’s very frustrating to have to be cautious of EVERYTHING from what kind of panties you wear, to the soap, to sex to what you eat, the list continues. Hopefully they find a permanent cure for it. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!

Hi there all, I’ve just found out that I have this BV after years of getting infections. I’m on a strong dose 1250 mg day for 7days, and guess what it’s xmas in new Zealand and no drinking even after you finish for 48 hours after. I’ve been told that it keeps recurring which telling you, I’m not handling pain soreness at all. I can’t live like this for rest of my life. Noticed some woman say she had no sex either, but I got told you also can get it from stress so all out there this is a major breakthrough plus antibiotics also. If anyone out there has any natural ways that work please love to hear from you, as scary knowing its disease and it can cause to other areas.

I've been with the same man for 7 years. He's also the only man I have ever been with sexually and he is my husband. I had a baby a year ago but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this. I have never had bacterial vaginosis (BV) in the 5 years that we have been having sex. I got BV suddenly 7 months ago. I don’t know what changed, I didn't do anything different. No change in diet. I use Vagisil and I know not to use harsh soaps. It heals and goes away completely. But it always comes back right after we have sex.

I think that perhaps you should investigate the bacterial content of the water which you use to shower/bathe. It might be a surprise and a hidden culprit for vaginal infections.

Ladies that go to the gym, don't wear tight clothes! Looks cute to be in tight clothing but it causes bacterial vaginosis (BV). I never had this living up north and now that I am in Florida, the heat and moisture cause it if you are in hotter climate. Also please do yourself a favor and wear only cotton underwear. The symptoms for me were all that were described. I thought I had an STD and was super scared but turned out BV is very common. Hope this helps!

I just had a hysterectomy about 8 to 10 weeks ago and just started having symptoms. I have a discharge, an odor somewhat like an ammonia like smell and pain in the bladder at the end of urinating, like the last couple drops. I was given medications and it cleared up the smell but once I finished, it came back. I saw my doctor and she took samples and gave me new medications.

My symptoms occurred after prescription of antibiotics for UTI (urinary tract infection), then yeast infection and all the remedies for that. I took a one time dose of something prescribed. It felt as though time released a bug to eat out the bacteria. A few weeks later, I ate Activia Greek Yogurt, seems as though it re-triggered it. I got a sudden biting/burning/stabbing sensation like something was crawling and gnawing feeling in my swollen pubic area.

I am 19, married, and have only been sexually active with one partner. My doctor diagnosed me with BV when I went in for my PAP for the first time to get on birth control. I have no idea how I got it, because I never douched. She told me it could have been because of soap/baths and since I smoke. I don't have any noticeable symptoms, except for a white discharge every now and then. It never even smelled bad. But I took pills two times a day for seven days and have been fine ever since.

I developed vaginal group B strep with an upper respiratory infection. I had no other symptoms besides discharge. The key is to keep the vaginal area balanced and don’t eat sugar. Yogurt makes my symptoms worse; I question whether the sugar in it or acidophilus is not great for BV? The only things that worked for me was DanActive and Attune bars.

For about two or three years I’ve been dealing with a smelly odor and discharge, usually occurring the day after intercourse and after a period. I would get reoccurring UTIs (talk about horrible) thankfully I don’t get those anymore, but I still sometimes have discharge and an odor sometimes fishy, I ruled out STD, haven’t been diagnosed with BV but I’m sure that’s what it is. Plan on going to see the doctor…

I’m a 42-year-old woman and I recall that after the birth of my first child (some 24 years ago), I’ve been getting that awful problem. I take showers at least twice a day, but then it dawned on me (after all these years) that maybe it’s the scented body washes that I’m showering with, so I switched to Johnson's baby body wash, and guess what ladies? It’s a total improvement! No more wearing panty liners! No more daily discharge, itching, and embarrassing odor. Changing the body wash was the best thing that I’ve could have done for myself. I’ve also been told that the vagina is pretty much self-cleaning, so it’s not necessary to scrub yourself to death with perfumed, irritating washes.

I've been diagnosed with BV several times within the last several years. Never had an STD or any major health problems. I live a very active and healthy lifestyle yet I always get these horrible infections. My symptoms are fishy odor, pelvic pain, discharge -- a lot-- especially after sex. It is so embarrassing to even have sex with my boyfriend whom I've been dating for several years.

I have been getting bacterial vaginosis now on and off for two years. I recently got BV again and took the pills, and two weeks later went back to the doctor and still had BV. Then the doctor gave me the cream and after taking the cream, I thought it was gone. Today, I still have symptoms and I think I still have it. Why won’t it go away?! I've been treated in the past and it always went away after treatment and wouldn't show up sometimes for a year. This time though I am a little scared of why nothing seems to be working.

My second pregnancy four years ago changed my body more than my first. I had yeast infections and I think I may also have had bacterial vaginosis. I was treated for a yeast infection. Now, after using an IUD for a few years, I am having issues with odor and discharge. This may be made worse by my leaky bladder. I have already been treated once with antibiotics for vaginosis, along with a fungicide for yeast. My OB/GYN told me that some of her patients douche with vinegar solutions after sex to prevent vaginosis. Obviously, I can't do that every time. But I will give it a try next time.

I am a 41 year old woman and have no experience in the past with any of this. I have been with the same man for 13.5 years and had never had a problem. Now I develop BV! I am reading some of the information and the only thing jumps off the page at me is the "new partner!" Well, I know that I am 100% faithful and we have never had this problem before! I did have a hysterectomy last year and I am wondering whether the estrogen pills that I have to take contributed to this or If my husband is having relations with someone other than me!

This is the first time I have had bacterial vaginosis. Towards the end of my period I started smelling a terrible fishy smell that was extremely embarrassing. The last 13 days or so have been very stressful for me with constant, smelly vaginal discharge until I just found a tampon stuck inside of me. (I was inserting a tea tree oil suppository when I felt something there.) I am writing this to encourage others who have BV to PLEASE check and make sure you don't have a tampon stuck. I have a feeling it may be the cause of many cases of BV.

My symptoms started a few months after I had the implanon inserted. I wouldn't get my period every month it was more like every three months so a few day's after it would end ii would have intercourse with my partner of four years n would notice an embarrassing odor which I thought was due to my menstrual cycle. So I had it removed and noticed the smell hadn't gone away. I could smell it most after sex. So I did some research myself n figured it was BV.

I'm 25 and have been diagnosed with BV since the age of 18. I have been prescribed lots of different medication by my doctors and nothing seems to stop it from reoccurring. I have also abstained from sex and resorted to unprotected sex since I was also told that condoms can trigger the infection and still nothing works. The odor that I'm faced with starts off with a fishy scent and then by day 2 evolves into a rotting odor.

I have had BV for at least 5 years. The most annoying symptoms are the smell and the bleeding. I literally have to where a pad because of the discharge and the light pink blood. It appears that BV shows up right before my cycle each month. It has also surfaced when I have a new sex partner as well. I just really wish it would go away. There has to be some way of getting rid of this forever. Cleocin suppositories work best for me, but some doctors have prescribed Metronidyzole both vaginally and oral and that’s a drag! It helps to know I’m not alone though!

It is helpful to know that I am not the only one suffering with BV. Like many others, I'm finding reoccurrences when I am stressed and taking in too much sugar. I also had been faithfully taking Acidophilus daily but the last three weeks (also extremely stressful and eating lots of sweets), I had slacked off. Prior to today's diagnosis, it had been more than a year since an occurrence. Acidophilus can be a little costly but I figured the money I spend on sweets can now be used to buy more of it. In the past I've tried both the pill and the gel. The pill usually upsets my stomach but the gel is a mess and causes yeast. So I'm trying the pill again and hoping for the best. Stay encouraged ladies and keep posting tips.

I am post-menopausal (surgical) x15 yrs. Started acquiring BV 2-3 times/year after going off of oral Premarin. I have the usual odor with slight discharge, but am really bothered with intermittent episodes of low pelvic pain that mimic menstrual cramps. Heating pad & ibuprofen help until I receive antibiotics.

I have suffered with bacterial vaginosis for over 20 years. I can't believe no one mentions boric acid. Talk to your doctor about it, it's the magic cure. After sex, I insert the pill, and the foul odor never returns! I've only been doing this for 1 year, it's saved my sex life!

I feel so relieved to know that I'm not alone in this. Has anyone experienced bleeding during sex (not related to your menstruation). It is so embarassing. I seem to get them every 2-3 months now for the past 2 years.

After getting results back on a cultured urine sample my diagnosis is bacterial vaginosis. I have read a lot of these descriptions of symptoms and none fit mine. I have had a mild discharge over the last week but it has no odor. I too, though, have had really painful lower back pain!

I have had bacterial vaginosis off and on for many years; usually it is brought on when my husband and I have sex frequently. I think some men have semen that is more acidic than others so maybe that is the cause. I got a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis both at the same time recently and have been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder. My body is so stressed out I think that is what caused it this time. But I have never had bacterial vaginosis and yeast together and I am so miserable. My doctor prescribed creams for both but you can't use them at the same time so I have to struggle with 14 days of this...

I had some vaginal burning inside the vaginal canal with no pain the the external area and a thin whitish discharge without odor.

I have recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections. I have also recently been diagnosed with a small intestinal bacterial overgrowth which is caused by a fructose intolerance. I am convinced that my BV and SIBO are caused by the same thing. I am hoping that sticking to the diet will help me to rebalance my body. Keep up with probiotics. Long term use of birth control pills, vaginal contraception, and ingestion of high fructose corn syrup all lead to these symptoms.

I have had the problem with bv since menopause and I am sure the ph and sperm are the cause. I have found that a sits bathe of apple cider vinger 1 cup along with 10 drops of tree tea oil drops, soak for 20 minutes every other day for a week helps plus 3% peroxide douche for a week two times a day (use a medicine syringe 3 tbls.) and 50 billion ultimate flora delayed release (by renew Life) for vaginal support taken once a day. Wow what a difference.

I don’t know what it is with bv but I have been battling it on and off for years. I heard eating yogurts and a healthy diet can sometimes help the issue at hand, but for some reason it never really stays away for long. It is so agitating to know that something likes can make a women’s life so miserable. I guess the only good thing about is it's not venereal disease.

Bacterial vaginitis showed me increased watery discharge, distinctly fishy odor especially strong after sex.

Thank God I am not the only one. It’s not fair but at least I know it’s not just me, I was beginning to feel like I was dirty or something. The antibiotics seemed to work well for me. It’s just a pain getting to the gynecologist all of the time. Cramp on the "social life" ha, but I’m sure there could be worst things in life. Can we start a union and demand an easier solution to treat this problem! I’m sure some doctor could figure it out.

I've been married to the same sex partner for over 20 years now. When I was younger I suffered from BV and/or yeast infections constantly. Over time I learned about wearing cotton underwear, not douching, not wearing tight pants, etc. etc. and I was able to get it under control. Recently I began a more vegan type of diet and read somewhere that an alkaline (vs. acidic) PH imbalance might contribute to BV and a vegan diet is certainly more alkaline than other diets. I'm currently living in Brazil and waiting to find some test strips so that I can rule this out! In the past six months I've taken 4 rounds of Metronidazol and I just want to get the problem under control. PS - it was diagnosed by a US doctor originally. Most doctors know nothing about nutrition and health, let alone how nutrition impacts PH.

I had surgery a few years ago for endometriosis, and since then I have had nothing but problems. I have chronic yeast infections left and right. No treatment helps for longer than a few days. In just a few days ago got diagnosed with BV, what is bothering me is that none of my worst symptoms are even listed as symptoms, such as severe swelling inside me, and extreme pain during sex.

My symptoms were many. If I became sweaty my crotch would burn very badly. The labia felt like it was on fire! The inflammation covered the entire area even the anus. I started seeing a new boyfriend and when I became aroused I started to itch! Talk about embarrassing! I was able to hide it from him though!

Hi I thought I had a yeast infection because discharge was cottage cheese like but went to the doctor today and the test results showed bv. I just finished the cream treatment which did not work. I am taking pills now. I was just diagnosed with diabetes.

For years, it feels like bv is always around the corner. It’s horrible. Latest situation: new partner, we started having sex 3 months ago, each month around the time I ovulate I get bv. First treated with gel. Month 2 was oral. Now we are doubling with pill and gel. He smokes cigarettes. I don't. We also enjoy oral sex as well as vaginal sex. I have had an iud for several years. I’m wondering if this info is similar to other situations/symptoms.

I have had BV off and on for several years. The doctor's can't explain why I keep getting it back either but it's a pain in the butt. At one point, they were saying use condom but that too didn't work. Now they are saying I'm allergic to my husband. I'm at a loss for words and I'm at end here.
