I had 2 episodes of atrial fibrillation, while working in a hospital. Both times I had a feeling of impending doom that I didn’t understand the 1st time, with anxiety and breathlessness. I was struggling to stay upright and get help, had severe reflux and was in a state of confusion. Then the irregular heart rate started and getting an effective breath was difficult, I was grunting. When I was placed with my legs elevated and given oxygen it resolved very quickly. I didn’t know I had liver cancer and metabolic imbalance.
I had a ventricular fibrillation incident a month ago. There was no warning signs or symptoms. I had a mild infarction a month earlier and was treated with the placement of two stents. I was prescribed a life vest that contains a defibrillator. I was told that I was in danger of sudden cardiac arrest and to wear the vest at all times. I guess I didn’t believe them because I only wore it about half the time. The day I had the ventricular fibrillation I wasn't wearing it. I was very fortunate that I was around someone who knew CPR!
