I have been having stroke-like events for over 20 years, I am 56. I was diagnosed with ichthyosis at an early age, but was not told what kind. I have been having dystonia, hemiparesis, and various other issues. Doctors suspected MS (multiple sclerosis), but forced the issue. Negative. But I tested positive for AMA (antimitochondrial) M2, two times. Still my doctors are ignoring my symptoms, they would much rather believe it's all psychological and gave me crazy papers 10 years ago. I moved recently, looking to hook up with a doctor who knows something.

Antimitochondrial antibodies were found in me by chance when I was found to have fibromyalgia. Nothing has ever been done since I was diagnosed (4 years ago). But only today I saw a new doctor who says she intends to do a liver function test every 6 months. I should mention my father died from hepatitis in 1991 and they now think it is passed through genes.
