I had been sick for about a 10 days before I went to the hospital. By then I researched and was sure I had a bacterial infection, either strep or tonsillitis. The doctor was able to tell basically on first look at my throat, combined with my state and answers to a few questions. The doctor swabbed my throat and did strep test which confirmed bacterial tonsillitis caused by strep.

I have sore throat, fever, congestion of nose, difficulty swallowing, and the tonsils are red and with spots. I have this problem from childhood. I have these problems 5 to 6 times in one year, mostly in cold weather.
