I believe acute flaccid myelitis is being misdiagnosed for a vital vitamin B12 deficiency which causes demyelination of the nervous system. Symptoms are exactly as mentioned in this article. My hubby and I had memory loss, falls, incontinence, hearing loss, and peripheral neuropathy. I saw 17 doctors before I obtained an accurate diagnosis of genetic mutation MTHFR vitamin B12 deficiency.
