I have a 15-year-old son who struggles with social behavior because of ADHD. He has awesome friends who really are great, and handle is issues like true friends. My concern is that one day they may not anymore. So, here is my concern that we have been dealing with. So, we pick our son up from school and sometimes his friends will jump in the car and we (parents) have no issue with that at all. On the other hand, our son does!

Our son just turned 13. He’s had to shelter in place like the rest of us due to COVID-19. Homeschooling is not even happening. He keeps busy riding his dirt bike which is his passion. I’m thankful he has that. He also jumps on a trampoline. But the incessant talking and bouncing off the walls is too much. He doesn’t like his ADHD medicine Intuniv, saying it makes riding his motorcycle not fun. So he’s on the lowest dose possible. He has defiance issues and argues with me all the time.

My son is 15 and has a mind of a 12 year old. He always wants to be with me, will not go stay at any friend’s house. He loves animals, that's his passion and to calm him down. He has OCD really bad; washes his hands all the time, sprays perfume all day, smells everything, plates, cups, etc., before he will use them. He finds it very hard to sleep and it is very hard to calm down when he is wild. As a family we get through it and it's hard on the household but what do you do. They are our children and we love them and learn something every day, how to cope with kids with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). So to all you parents out there I feel the struggles and frustration; be strong and never give up.
